Prostaff is a solid scope. Redfield Revolution gets my vote though. The clarity and quickness to view gets me every time.

I have a redfield on my 7400 and I love it. Great scope for the money I spent. Good and clear optics.

I got the 3x9x50 Revolution for christmas, haven't mounted it yet, but it picks up the neighbor's dog very well around dusk. Quite clear as well.

I have a Redield Revolution 3X9X40 on my Tac Sol-barrelled 10/22. It's a nice scope for the dough. My vote is for the Redfield. Go look at/through both of them somewhere and choose whichever one you prefer.

+1 for Redfield. I like buying an American scope too, even though the lens is probably foreign and it really doesn't matter. I like being patriotic and shite.

The red field my very well be a better scope but there ain't nothin wrong with a pro staff. By 16 yo brother is competition good with his regular deer rifle and it has a little pro staff on it.

Should the neighbor's dog be in fear of his life?

Both are solid scopes. I don't have a Redfield, but one of my friends has bought a couple of the new Redfields (now made by same company as Leupold as I understand it) and really likes them. I'd feel comfortable getting whichever one has the best combo of price/features.

Put a Redfield on my 35 Whelen. It's basically a Leupold Vari-X-1. Nice scope, and cheap.

Prostaff gets my vote but all I have are nikons on my rifles. Mainly nikon monarchs and a Nikon coyote.

I have both Leupold and Redfield and like the Redfield better.

I have a 4x12x40 Redfield on my 35. Its really bright at dusk and crystal clear. Leupold bought the company and now make the Redfield scopes.
I bought a 4x12x40 Prostaff a couple weeks ago at BPS for my 7mm/08.It gets good reviews and the Nikon warranty is very good as well.It was on sale for 159 so I couldnt pass it up.You cant go wrong with either scope.
