If it's kindof a romantic thing and you're not wanting to be in a loud party spot, hit up Blend. It's branded as a "wine bar" but they make very good cocktails as well. Y'all can get dressed up and have a nice dinner and drinks.
Hell, even the bar at Stroubes is nice to sit at and have drinks.
Third street is full of bars that will be loud/fun on a Friday night if y'all are wanting to do more of that type of thing.

There's the Blue Room right near your hotel for some live blues music, mud and water under the overpass for more live music. Third Street has a wide variety of fun and/or chill bars. Stroube's is always a good choice. Drinks and sushi at Tsunami may be another great option.

thanks, we do Tsunami in Lafayette so not doing that this time. The Blue Room sounds interesting, especially since its close to the Indigo. How far is Stroube's from there??? And yes I know I can find out online but I much prefer to ask you guys......

Look to be on opposite corners of the same block, Fleaux. :

Even if you don't want to dine at Tsunami's, go and enjoy a drink on the terrace. The view of downtown is awesome from there.
Oh and I'll be downtown too for the Elton John concert Friday night. I'll likely be at Boudreaux and Thibodeaux's after the concert. It's my favorite place downtown for live music.....although I've never been to the blues joint.
