Really enjoyed the books and I've read them a few times now. However I'm not getting my hopes up too high for this movie. I'm worried several important aspects of the book will not be captured (the giant and castle video games for one) and/or the maturity level of the movie will be a step below the book.

Also, not sure how the whole story will fit into a tight movie time frame.

Hell, Ender already looks too large and why is Col. Graff in the bunk room??

Might be able to steer around it if you don't plan to do sequels. I'm not denying it's importance though. Just a thought.

It's been quite a few years since I've read the book, but doesn't the giant/video game relate directly to the last section of the book where *SPOILER* he finds the bugger?

There is something about a November release date that looks good on a movie poster.

Basically the number 1 just looks good on a movie poster.

Yep, at least NCAA and college football will be in full swing.

I believe they've already said they are making them a bit older. Hopefully that means they will have more liberties with the darker parts of the story. I can live with a jump from 6 year olds (or whatever it was) to 10 or so if it means they have more freedom with doing more from the book. Won't detract a whole lot for me.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but damn it could be soooooo good.
