Truvia baking with sugar

Saw this in target. Doesn't this defeat the purpose? People use splendid, stevia and Truvia because they don't want to use sugar.

I switched almost entirely to Stevia and really enjoy the results.

Truvia is stevia but much better. Different extraction method. No bitterness

Sugar serves purposes other than adding sweetness in baking. That is why Truvia baking blend and Splenda baking blend exist. Your baked goods will be closer to normal and you are still cutting calories.
With the truvia baking blend you use half of the amount of sugar called for in a recipe so you are still cutting the sugar content by 75%.

Makes sense. I don't normally bake.

the mrs's has started using truvia in her stuff and we use it in our homemade ice cream, cant tell any difference and its way better for you.

Wife uses the Splenda. I can tell in baked goods, not sweetnesss wise, more of a texture thing.

you should see the array of food i can eat because of these products (as a diabetic). i am thankful for them, and really most stuff tastes about the same
