hit a homerun, but wasn't sure if it was going to be fair, so he didn't start running 'right away.'

The f'ing punk Bama pitcher then threw directly at and hit the same LSU batter the next time he came up to bat, and was promptly thrown out of the game by the umpire.

I wanna say this happened in the mid to late 2000s but can't remember......

Todd Linden watched a homer, Bama hit Bryan Moore with the next pitch and Moore charged the mound. That was 2001.

Would have been my next guess.

I didn't like that team very much from a personal standpoint. Linden absolutely used LSU for one semester...he didn't give a shite how he was perceived. He was pretty much an arse.

Linden. He pimped it big time, then flipped the bat.

Exactly...I think Skip had kinda lost control at that point and probably quit giving a shite.

That was also Brian Wilson's first year in the program, fwiw

So Bryan Moore rushed the mound twice in 2001?

He was 5-5 on Sunday in a blowout win over Vandy and the Vandy pitcher drilled him the first pitch of his 6th at bat.

Other than ULL Heath hit a homerun on Sunday against Ole Miss and watched it fly and that pissed off the Ole Miss dugout.

That 2001 team was a bunch of fricks.

Say what you will about that 2001 team, but damn they had some talent.

I remember talking to Linden at Fred's and told him I wanted 20 HRs out of him and he said "that's it?" He didn't hit nearly that many

I believe that is called Richt'ing, but you may want to check on that.

That one REALLY hurt man. Probably most disappointed I have ever been after a season, with the SB series being second.

Particularly because we were one win away from Omaha in Skip's last year, and that's where he shoulda ended his amazing career.

If he didn't hit 20 he had to be close.

that was also the game after the Saturday game when Skip told the 3rd base ump the Tide runner left the base too soon before tagging to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth and they called the guy out. Alabama wanted blood that next game.

That team also didn't have any starting pitching behind Mestepey.
