Watching a movie or show with the commentary

How many people do this? Are you hoping to get some cool behind the scenes type of info from the director or cast? Are there any really funny or cool ones you would recommend.
I have done this with several comedy movies and shows such as The Office, Wayne's World, and Superbad. I think it is fun to find out some of the stories behind the jokes, and you often find out that some of the extras are their friends or family.
The only real complaint is that after about 15 min it just turns into a track of people cracking jokes and telling random stories. It can still be pretty funny, but often kind of defeats the purpose.

Knocked Up commentary is great.
Apatow brought his daughter to it and Jonah Hill was on it and kept saying "frick". Apatow kept asking him to stop and Jonah said "maybe don't bring a kid to a "frickING" rated R DVD commentary and Apatow got up and left

The same thing happened in the Superbad commentary. They kept having to shield his daughter's eyes (supposedly) during the crude scenes.
Eventually Jonah Hill cussed so much that Apatow up and left with his daughter.

Sounds like a pretty dick move on jonah hill's part. I mean I get his stance, that it's a crude and filthy mouthed rated R movie and you probably shouldn't bring your young daughter..but I mean c'mon. You can't be funny and tell stories without cussing?

I do it all the time. I won't buy a film unless it has enough features like commentary to keep me interested for a few days straight. The Simpson seasons have some of the best commentary, FWIW.

I really enjoyed the commentary and outtakes on the first few seasons of the office.
East Bound and Down has really funny commentary.

The Simpsons dvds have hands down the best commentaries.
I'm a fan of commentary by directors, wriers, producers, etc. Not a big fan of commentary by the actors. Game of Thrones is a good example of this. The episodes with writer/producer commentary are great and the ones with the actors are terrible.

Another vote for the Simpsons commentaries. Some of the Kevin Smith movie commentaries I've seen were also pretty good.

I think the only one I have ever watched was Fight Club and that was just the director and HBC I believe.
I should try and watch more of those.

Lost had good commentary, especially when Damon and Carlton were the ones doing it.
As far as movies go, I thought Tropic Thunder had pretty good commentary. Robert Downey Jr. stayed in character throughout.

Though, that would be interesting.
I've done LOTR and The Godfather movies. Excellent stuff.

I've had those extended cuts for years and still haven't found time to go through every last bit of features on those things. Plus the last time I remember they're deep to navigate.

The Goonies one is pretty cool. It's the entire cast. Sean Astin leaves half way thru because he's filming LOTR.
