Another one for the Warehouse district if he's working downtown---or if he has to spend time on the Westbank at the Alario Center practice facility (easier to get across the river if you're already downtown). Lots of 1 BRs in condo buildings with amenities like onsite parking, pool, gym, etc. Downtown has a thriving Saturday farmer's market, the Wednesdays at the Square concert series, art galleries/the Contemporary Arts Center, etc.

Please educate him that NOLA isn't a cajun town, but a creole one. +1 for the Bon Ton (crawfish etouffee), and Cochon will give him a stylized taste of cajun/SW LA flavors.
