He brings substantial knowledge to the board about Barbe and most of their opponents. He dissects other players and gives good analysis which is awesome for us who do not get to see them up close. But he never once talks about Treys recruitment or where he is leaning at the present moment. So frustrating! But hopefully

I was about to say... After reading his posts, he looks like he has more knowledge than anyone else arguing with him!

Brumfield's dad, Moses' dad and Quinn's dad... I'm so glad they are all likeable and quality posters, gives me ease about the young men character. I hope to be in that conversation one day if my son is lucky enough to be offered by our beloved tigers

I just hope they don't take anything they read on this message board too seriously. ETA: And I hope their sons are all Tigers in the end!

LOL! I am afraid you guys have me mistaken for somebody else, but that is very flattering. If you only knew how un-athletic I am then you would know that I am not capable of producing off-spring like that, but thank you! The truth is that I am indeed a big sports fan, and a fan of ALL the kids. Speedy Noil is electric! I honestly think Malachi Dupre really can leap over tall buildings in a single bound, the kid has spring loaded legs! Leonard Fournette is a once in a generation running back and deserves all the hype and recognition he gets. Cam Robinson is one of the largest high school kids I have ever seen. Hootie Jones is a physical specimen for a DB. Garrett Brumfield and Will Clapp would make even out-of-shape/overweight guys like me look good toting the rock with the talents they have on the O-line. Bottom line is that I am just as excited as you guys are about the state we live in and the talent we have!

I believe Quinn cut the Aggies because they recruited like 10 WR this last go around. Same reason I dont worry about LF an Bama, they brought in 5 RB this last cycle. Quinn may go somewhere else on the fact of the WR we are getting but I wouldnt worry.
good lord dude, not this bull shite again. Elite players don't care how many other people are there. They are fricking elite. You really think a Fournette or Quinn is worried about players who have never played a down? I'd actually be worried if they are because they sure don't sound like they are going to put the work in. You want a guy that is not only talented but hungry. And those guys don't give a frick who else is there because they know they will win that competition.

Thats not why he cut them but you do know TAMU is out of the picture right? Also its nice to be competitive and hungry but if you are willing to jeopardize your chances for playing time and a higher draft mark because you want some in house competition, you are not "hungry" you are just dumb.

Trey Quinn is going to be a super star in college. I'd bet my bottom dollar on that. Certainly hope to see him in PnG!

my post has nothing to do with A&M. It's simply stating facts. Elite players don't care about depth charts. If they do they don't really think they are elite. And you don't sell this shite to recruits. It's scare tactics that crappy schools use (and it doesn't work). "Mr. Quinn, we'd love you at LSU. We think you'll be a star. And A&M signed 6 guys last year at your position and so you'll be buried on the depth chart." This is a subtle message telling Quinn he's not good enough to play at A&M. You sound like fricking Tulane. But to your question, as I posted earlier in the thread, KK was our primary contact and he's at Tech now and for whatever reason we haven't re-initiated with Quinn since. That may happen. That may not happen. I know Trey had some pretty positive thoughts about A&M so if we do I wouldn't say we're "out of it" but as of now, we are not at all a player in his recruitment. And I'm always laughing at each thread I post in, no matter the topic, some tiger has to ask do I know if "A&M is out of it for X". Way too many of you guys on this board are majorly insecure. I notice you guys go to other people's board to do this too. I really don't see this sort of activity by any other fanbase. FTR, my opinion of where any kid will go doesn't matter a whit (and in case you don't know it, neither does yours). Convincing me of something isn't going to get you Quinn or anyone else.

That A&M symbol you have there will not be welcomed since A&M now thinks they are the #1 SEC school after one good year... Just go check their boards for comedy gold!

nah, not really. The regulars around here are cool. It's the randoms that bow up to me in every thread.

I don't think anyone is trying to bow up to you. Personally though I think your opinion (which you're trying to pass off as fact) couldn't be more wrong. If you don't think that even the bluest of blue chips doesn't at least consider the depth chart and the guys in the classes above him then you're a goddamned fool. Depth chart and early PT are one of the biggest factors in recruiting. Try landing the #1 QB one year and see if the #1 QB the next year will even listen to you.

nah man, not talking about that. I don't mind disagreement on that. Everyone has opinions and I also absolutely agree that QB is one position where it is taken into account. I don't believe WRs or RBs care much because every team plays multiples. Did Yeldin not play because of Lacy? No. He got a ton of carries as a freshman. We regularly play 10 WRs. Depth chart is far less important than QB where only 1 guy ever plays. And selling it vs kids that have never even played is silly. It's one thing to say Yeldin will be in front of you Fournette. But mostly Fournette won't care because Yeldin will be a JR his FR year and it may be his last year. In Quinn's case, there are 6 freshman for 4 starting spots. They are meaningless faces that he just has to beat out. It's not an impediment at all. It's why Bama can stack up tons of RBs or you guys DBs or us WRs. But I wasn't talking about any of that. It's the "you know A&M is out of it for X" that I'm talking about. Totally worthless and it happens in every thread.

I agree that it varies position by position but it is a big factor in many cases. For example if Bama had signed Tunsil last year instead of Ole Miss I think LSU would have much less of a fight on their hands with Cam Robinson. For LF and Quinn yeah, maybe it is marginally less important. But you better believe Fournette knows who Bama signed last year and Quinn knows who A&M signed at WR. Is that LSU's main pitch to those guys? Hell no. I'm sure they tell them the same sort of stuff they tell everyone: stay at home and rep Louisiana, compete for championships, and if you work hard early PT is there for the taking. But I am positive they are made aware of the opportunity that they have at LSU, albeit not in a negative light in regards to who other schools may have signed. The kids are smart and can do that leg work themselves.
