What is a good percentage for 2,4 D? The most I could find at Lowes was 8%. Will local farming co-ops have better stuff?

What you get at Lowes is more than fine for residential use.

They may but you might need an applicator license to buy it. The stuff at garden centers is fine.

Here's what I do to treat clovers on my centipede lawn.

Buy this...

and this...

Put some of the concentrated weed free zone in the sprayer. Set dial on sprayer to "2". Attach to hose and you can spot treat or spray your whole yard with this set up. You buy this stuff at Louisiana Nursery or Cleggs. Works great for clovers, buttonweed, and dollarweed.
