DATE: 3/18/2013
TIME: 0720
STATE: Taylor County, FL
SPECIES: Officially an Eastern according to the FWC but killed only a few miles from an official Osceola County. Hybrid?
WEAPON: Benelli M2 20 gauge
AMMO: Custom Loaded TSS #9
CALL & MAKER: Clint Corder Osage Slate
BEARD: None?
RIGHT SPUR: 3/4"
LEFT SPUR: 3/4"
WEIGHT: 15.5 lbs

Great hunt, got within 75 yards of the roost and this gobbler pitched off the roost and landed 55 yards out. We played a little cat and mouse game where he strutted in an old logging road for about 10 minutes gobbling his fool head off. Another gobbler appeared between the first and myself. The first gobbler was having no part of this and sprinted toward me. Game over... From first gobble to flop less than 15 minutes...

Most birds in that grey area are hybrids.. I've heard some people say there are no more TRUE osceola's left.. not sure about that tho.. Nice kill
