Man how did we miss out on this guy? Just noticed he is hitting .493 with 9 doubles, 1 triple and 2 home runs for Ole Miss this year. He also has outstanding defense, teams are 9 for 22 total stealing on Ole Miss this year.
I know we had Chinea come in this class and Barash enroll earlier than expected...but dare I say this guy could have beat out Ross this year? Hate to see talent like that go to a rival school from right underneath our noses.

Ole Miss is humiliating us more than Bama post 2012.

Too big to play for PM.

Watched him play a few weekends back, he's pretty good. A friend of mine is a scout " who was there watching Wahl pitch" is pretty high on him. Said he could be a top ten round draft pick.

Man, how much better could we be with him at DH and Turner at C with guys like Moore and Ross as backups

Who's lead recruiter?
That's right, Javi. Fire him.

Mainieri pulled that title from him 2 years ago.

Yeah, he got mentioned in the "Best SEC baseball players by position" thread from February: LINK.
Looks like he just wanted to find a place where he knew for sure he could play right away.

However, one thing will be different in terms of the philosophy of LSU’s coaching staff, because Mainieri said he intends to take the reins as recruiting coordinator once a new pitching coach is in place.
“I think one of the mistakes I made that I am going to take responsibility for is that I probably delegated too much,” said the coach.
Mainieri continued that since LSU’s 2009 national championship, he feels he hasn’t been hands on quite enough in many aspects of the program.
“When we got back from the World Series in ‘09, I had so many requests for speaking engagements and appearances here and there. My head was spinning. My calendar was full,” said Mainieri. “A lot of times I was late getting back to the field for practice even, and I just feel like I kind of lost a little bit of contact with our players that I think is so critical to have. In order to do that, I had to delegate more and more, and I need to be more involved. I need to be more involved in recruiting. I need to be more involved in every aspect of play on the field.”

My guess would be he is expected to be a one year guy then go to the draft.... I guess LSU figured they go after Chinea who will be around for a few years

So why is he not fired again?

I wonder if Barash reclassifying had something to do with us not going after Turner. Would have been a little silly to have 4 catchers on the team at once (with Moore being the 5th "catcher" - dont really consider him one, but he can at least play it).
Just hate to see a guy like Turner go to freaking Ole Piss. Imagine if Raph Rhymes went to Arkansas, Ole Miss or Mississippi State instead of here
We still had 2 extra roster spots this year too. Damn.

Grewe was the recruiting coordinator.

I'm having flashbacks to David Dellucci going to Ole Miss from Catholic-BR back when Garidel had a regular pipeline going to LSU.

You realize he would still be here if he hasn't gotten in trouble. Not LSU's fault there.

When did I say it was LSU's fault?
