Do they have big arse leaves in the summer that get about 12" across? If they do, I know the trees, but not the name.

Yep. Very invasive and will take over an open area. Only seen them on a couple of pieces of property but they grow in huge patches like bamboo

Could be a squatchasorous oak. Very poisonous.

My first thought was a honey locust, but him describing it as having 12" leaves knocks this from contention.

No bean from what I've seen. Stalk is more of a skin than bark and green like bamboo

How big around? Spray paint, oil can, or 55 gal drum?

Biggest I recall seeing is maybe 5 gal bucket size. I've heard of them refered to as a rubber tree but google search didn't show any matches on that.

Could it be Big Leaf Magnolia? Those leaves are like small umbrellas and they are stalks until they reach midstory height.

At first I was thinking starbush, but I believe tung oil tree is called rubber tree at the old folks home.

Other suggestions could be camphor tree, or maybe Chinese parasol

A locust tree would probably have thorns

These things are very invasive. Was talking with a friend and he cut some for tomato poles and they started growing and sprouting up. They eventually grow to a decent size tree

I always heard a rubber tree too. I have one in the front yard at one of my rent houses. I will ask the landscape guy and report back.
