Heading to New Orleans Friday night for the Alabama Shakes concert.

Looking for a place pretty close to the warehouse district for a few drinks and possibly a light supper, maybe just apps.

Would someplace like August be good? It seems that I have read good things on here about their bar area.

Also, would I need to, or even be able to make reservations in the bar? It's a party of 4.

this

they're killing it right now. went last Friday and it was fantastic. no need to even get one of the entrees. charcuterie, sausages and beginnings are on point and all you'll need along with some cocktails and wine.

Not sure August is your best choice before a concert.

I'd check with Rio Mar.

ROOT looks great!

However, I should have mentioned it needs to be seafood because of lent.

Seems that Rio Mar would be a better choice in that regard. Should I make reservations?

Always. If you are doing a decent sized group explain your gameplan, they may set you up with a nice set menu.

Don't really care for Rio Mar- Root blows it away if you can find seafood or other meatless items.

You better get in line now if you want Rock n Sake on friday. That has to be the 2nd(Rum House) most overrated place in NOLA. It is ok but damn, I'm not waiting that long to get into any place.

I was going to suggest Butcher till I realized you said Friday.

August is great, but check opentable.com for availability. The bar is small and gets crowded.

You also may want to check Luke and Borgne.

I don't go unless I'm dragged over by a friend. How people could wait an hour for a mediocre TACO when Juan's, just as good is 6 blocks away. Maya's not the same but latin and delicious is 7 blocks.
