I just saw where LA says it would want to host the olympics in 2024. The U.S.O.C sent letters out to 35 cities to gauge interest. NOLA wasn't on there but Tulsa and Orlando were.

Heres the list

quote:

The cities that received the letter were Phoenix; San Jose, Calif.; Los Angeles; Sacramento; San Diego; San Francisco; Denver; Washington; Jacksonville, Fla.; Orlando, Fla.; Miami; Atlanta; Chicago; Indianapolis; Baltimore; Detroit; Minneapolis; St. Louis; Las Vegas; New York; Boston; Rochester; Charlotte, N.C.; Columbus, Ohio; Tulsa, Okla.; Portland, Ore.; Philadelphia; Pittsburgh; Memphis; Nashville and Davidson County; Austin, Tex.; Dallas; Houston; San Antonio; and Seattle.

Has the Olympics recently been held in a place as hot/humid as New Orleans? Seems like that would make things difficult right off the bat before getting into infrastructure concerns.

I'd love to hear testimonies from athletes/trainers/fans across the world after visiting the FQ

What would we do with the facilities afterwards? Don't most cities lose money on the Olympics? As far as the room concern is I am in favor of bulldozing some projects.

In theory money could fix all of NOLA's Olympic problems except one. Hurricanes.
