Does anyone think there is any place in Baton Rouge that has really good BBQ?
Voodod is alright, but seems overpriced
I don't consider TJ Ribs a BBQ place
Podnuhs is ok
Pimanyolis is pretty good actually, but nothing to shout about

I guess I got spoiled when I lived in GA for 10 years and had some awesome places to choose from

My goto is Smokin Aces on Government. But no, there's not really any great BBQ in BR.

Even if one opens, BR wont support it. Has been some good spots over the years..... Just not an area where people dine out for 'Q......

It's a shame too. Good Q is like a sore dick. I prefer BBQ over damn near any other food out there. BBQ should be it's own food group.

BR had a really good BBQ spot until this weekend. Bushwood. Bad location and high overhead did them end. He says he may be opening again in a smaller location, though.

I sure hope so.

Some of the best BBQ I have ever had was at the BBQ cook off at the Houston Rodeo WOW.

It's a must do if you have a chance. It's a 4 day party, if you lucky to get invite to a booth that's the way to go, all food and drinks free. It's over 200 teams

I lived in San Antonio for 14 months 2005/ 2006. I was able to attend the Houston and San Antonio rodeos both years with the cookout passes. They were excellent times. I will be back in the near future.

Unless there's a D in front of it to make it DQ, then the cars will be wrapped around the block.

Add to that: horrendous service & poor speed of food delivery.

Food was great; sauces were out of this world. Let us know if or when he resurfaces.
