I expected better from you :(

quote:

Generally people who make it out of poverty are more frugal than those who are born into wealth.

This is because they value material possessions more, most likely because they grew up valuing that which they did not have.

This is why people who live without freedom will sacrifice worldly possessions to be free.

Somethings wrong with you when you have a problem with the obvious. You know damn well it's true, but just too PC to admit it.

Could be. Or they value the hard work that went into obtaining the things they have.

It's just not that cut and dry, though you've given me a pass on generalities so I guess the thing to do would be let it go.

Really? Because all I see are graphics telling me that less wage earners means less income. I admit I just skimmed, but nowhere did it have any information on the adult life of the children in those situations?

One of us is lost, and I don't think its me. People who devalue two parent households and education usually end up poor. I think the information posted showed the earning potential of single females is pretty bleak, particularly if they have children.

It appears we have a culture of this, a cycle that is repeating. LINK

I'll stand by what I said which is that people who devalue two parent households and education are doomed to be poor and pass those values along to the next generation.

Some valid points have been made but IMO not the right points. Welfare will be addressed in the future but it can't be addressed right now. If you cut welfare those that don't know how to work or refuse to work will turn to theft. More than likley this means home invasion and theft. With an armed populance this peopple my be shot and possibley killed. We can not have blood on our hands. Therefore, until we have stricter gun control (get the guns out of law abiding citizens hands) we can not have welfare reform.

quote:

Absolutely true, CT. The problem is children. If they cared about setting an example for their kids they would get up in the morning and go to a job even if it was the same pay as welfare in order to instill their children with a better set of values.

Welfare is carefully designed and continually tweaked to discourage work and independence to ensure democratic party power for generations to come.
