What is a 7:1 gear ratio good for?

I currently use 6:4 bait casters. Which gear ratio is the best for all round fishing?

I like a 5 for redfish

Some people like them for deep diving crank baits too

Moving your plastic too fast so that they bite the tail off it. That how it works for me. LOL

It's 7.1:1 and 6.4:1, right? There's only about a 10% difference between the two.
