Suppose . . . just suppose . . . that a 1h weekly radio show dedicated to the Hornets was going to start.

Suppose it was hosted by two Hornets247 writers, but none of the `favorites' and no one affiliated with TP, WWL, etc.

Suppose it was on an AM station that streamed online and made the shows into little podcasts.

If that were to exist . . . think you'd listen? Call?

What would you prefer it to be like? More recap / preview? More opinion? Call oriented? Guests, like local and `foreign' writers?

Time slot thoughts?

I have ideas, restrictions, etc. I just want yours (and those of others) since I may be dead wrong about what is best.

Thanks in advance.

I'd listen and call if it was during a time I was able to really get into it. But I'd surely listen.

Both

Little bit of everything. Do some recap and preview but also have a lot of opinion stuff with guests calling in. It will keep things more interesting. I would love to hear a few national writers but the local guys know more about this team. What could be good is having beat writers for the other teams coming on and talking a bit about the opponent.

Time slots could be any time.

I'd listen. Would definitely listen to the podcasts.

My fear about WWL is basically playing out. We knew it would be Saints-dominant, which is fine. But they never talk Hornets. They'll get a random 5 minute Brian Roberts interview, but thats it. There's never a Saints topic too minor for Bobby to spend 3 hrs on.

With that said, I like hearing from other teams' beat reporters about what's going with their teams. They're always have the most knowledgeable.

I think recap/preview is kind of inevitable.

Would definitely love to hear from blog bros (TrueHoop/SBNation/whomever else) and national guys.

Recap/preview- ideally a little more in depth than a typical AP write up. Heavy on the call ins. Something like EDSBS radio would be grand. Informed, yet irreverent and always having fun.

I probably wouldn't listen regularly. I don't use radio very often.

If it was decent I'd listen to a podcast of it, but unless it was on during rush hour and available in BR, I can't see myself listening to it at the scheduled time.

It should be different than the In the NO podcasts. I'm sure it'd be hard to have completely different topics, but I wouldn't want to feel like I'm hearing 2 other people reading the same script.

Call oriented?

Dear God no. Nothing makes me turn the dial faster than when Deke starts taking a bunch of calls, It's hard to make Deke look smart but sports radio callers are the worst. Even the prescreened bits that Ryan and Michael are doing aren't that great. The questions aren't bad but it just doesn't flow very well. I'd rather them read the question than play a recorded call.

you can download Hornets247 podcast on itunes. Post two a week and they are about 2 hours long each. They talk about games played that week and games in the future and talk about other things like trades, draft, FA, everything to know about the hornets. I listen to it every episode, check it out!!! you'll love it!!!

They also do call in. Its prerecorded though so you do not call live. You just leave a message and they pick good questions to put on the podcast.
