...that is until the tragic boating accident this weekend...

The legendary 1911 design has been brought into the 21st century with the refinement today’s
shooters demand. The SIG SAUER® 1911 proves that close tolerances equal complete reliability and
need not be incompatible in an off-the-shelf pistol. SIG SAUER has introduced clean, distinct lines
that American shooters have embraced, while retaining the crisp trigger pull, classic ergonomics,
and exceptional accuracy they expect. The 1911 Tactical Operations model features a SAO trigger, low profile night sights, integral accessory rail, ambidextrous safety, Magwell, and Ergo XT grips.

Also available in a threaded barrel version. The 1911 TACPAC

1911 Railed kit includes:
1911 Nitron rail pistol
CPL-1 Compact pistol laser
1911 Holster with integrated mag pouch
Two (2) magazines
Speed loader
Allen wrench

That's a nice looking piece. How much would one of those set one back?

Nice gun. I handled a few sig 1911s just yesterday. Overall fit finish was pretty good and the slides are like butter. I found that they had a spongy trigger but they told me a 100 dollar trigger job will fix that right up.

What's your beef with the external extractor?

I love it.

I'm a huge fan of sig pistols in general

the 1911 tac ops has a match trigger...very nice right out of the box...

but there is almost always room for some improvement on any factory mass produced gun...

Match grade trigger.

ETA: I'm with KR. Even as good looking as some like this one and the S&W E series two tone gun I could do without that external extractor on a 1911

I don't see the problem either...

my brother is a gunsmith and past championship shooter and he see's no problem with it...he's built many a competition 45 and he actually thinks it's a solid piece of work by Sig...extractor included...

I'm a huge Sig fan myself...

I would agree the external extractor is an improvement on the design for functionality. Just not aesthetics.

It's not an improvement though. At least in my opinion, and it's ugly.

An external extractor is not an improvement on reliably ejecting spent shells? I'd venture to say it is. Never said I liked it.

Sorry to hear about the boating accident. Mine were lost when I tipped my canoe in the ditch in my front yard.

No, my tens of thousands down range with a normal 1911 extractor say otherwise.
