A 9 year old actress that was up for an Oscar last night. It's funny because everyone loves her and she seems like a sweet 9 year old girl. It's the complete opposite of a cunt. It was supposed to be taken like that but people are too busy being outraged.

I think a ton of people got up today, saw that story, and are relieved because now they have some outrageous shite to be angry and offended about. It is like a drug to this country.

This is a stoop for the Onion.
Typically their humor is smarter than this.
Simple shock value insults have a place in comedy, but I think its best reserved for a certain audience, not wide broadcast.
A lot of people here think its a matter of someone being a "pussy" or just too easily offended. Sure, a lot of folks hand wringing maybe part of that crowd. Stepping back though, this isn't really different than pointing at, say, a Downs syndrome kid and laughing or calling your grandmother a whore. The Onion should be better than this.

The same people who are pissed off about this are the same people who thought it was ok for Bill Maher to call Sarah Palin the same thing. No woman should ever be called that. I get the attempt at shock humor, just not very smart.

If i'm hanging out with my buddies and one of them calls me a c*nt, well it's funny. I call him one back. But if he looks over and calls my wife that, well then game over. I'm not offended by the word, or really any other word personally.
