But pick pocketing and trespassing are issues of private property. People who are government minimalists still believe in property rights of the individual.
I can assure you that Josh does as well. So we can stop being silly and pretending that he supports all non violent forms of crime.

I am opposed to illegal immigration, but this comparison is technically way off since laws against immigration are very weak and/or nonexistent. Living in the US illegally isn't even a crime. They would be committing a crime if they are using a fraudulent identity or fake documentation. My understanding is that border evasion and overstaying a visa are very minor crimes that similarly come with very small fines (and repatriation). In the big picture they are less of a crime than speeding. You might as well say that they can't issue a license to anyone that ever got a speeding ticket.

Ridiculous but at least it serves to identify illegals. The expiration date should should be used for deportation if they have not achieved legal status by that date. My opinion is we should streamline legal immigration, deport the illegals on some scheduled basis and put them at the end of the legal immigration line if they choose legal immigration. To do otherwise basically disregards/condones illegal immigration. And most important: get that southern border locked down tight.

Speeding is a big crime because speeding puts innocent lives at risk.
If you speed and have an accident that kills an innocent person you won't need a driver's license because your arse will be in jail.

Nope. Border evasion is not the same as living here undocumented because you actually have to catch them at the border. You can't generally charge someone living far away from the border with border evasion. Besides this "crime" has like a $25 fine which is usually waived and repatriation.

True on ID keeping tabs I suppose but the state made more money when they were driving without a DL. The fines were about a grand before they were deported at our expense. Now they have to pay for the DL like us they will be allowed more jobs.
The real question is the employers hiring illegals in the first place. Why did the law even exist if few followed not hiring an illegal alien?
