Is it possible to replace the video card on an HP Probook 6460b laptop?

Just curious if it's even worth the trouble to do so if it is. Everything is very nice on the system except the graphics card.

Damn, oh well. Thanks for the quick response.

With laptops about all you can do is add memory and change the hdd.

I knew the Gaming Board would pull through. Think I can get some external video card thing for 200 bucks?

ViDock is around $200 then whatever the cost of the video card you choose is. If you got like a 650Ti you would be in for about $330 total.

I'm a console guy and so I'm a complete novice at this. If I wanted to play Left 4 Dead for example, do you think the extra hundred is worth it?

What extra $100? For the Vid Card? You have to have that. The Vidock is just a power supply basically to run the vid card. Without a vid card you just have a black box.

isn't left for dead ran on the source engine. If it is, you could probably play it with what you've got. That engine runs on low end/laptops really easily. you may have to turn down the settings a little though though.

I was under the impression that Vidock was more than just a black box.
I gotcha now.

That'd be awesome. I've been screwing around with the Dolphin emulator for the Wii/GC and some of those games are absolutely dreadful with framerates and I thought I'd need an extra boost to do any hardcore gaming.

nah, i used to play source engine games on my cheap dell laptop. You'll probably be good to go.

I could be wrong, and I probably am, but isn't most console emulation processor based? In other words, you'd see better returns from a better processor than a better gfx card. Like I said, I could be wrong, but I feel like that's the case.

Hell that's a great question.
It's four core i5, so it's not the best but I thought it was adequate
