I like my Beretta. Buy a judge if you want a toy.

I've got an m9a1 and I love it to death. Changed the hammer spring to a d spring and the trigger is much better

+1

A lot of people are shocked at how much crisper the trigger is on my Beretta compared to others. It's literally like a 5 dollar and 10 minute modification. D spring is where it's at.

if you are just looking at MSRP, they are pretty close in value brand new. Actually, the Governor is a little higher

MRSP=/=real world value

Used values.
Beretta $525 LINK
Governor $425 LINK

Regardless of the Governor's value, I wouldn't trade the Beretta for the Governor.

My main problem with the Governor is accuracy with 45 Colt/ACP ammo. I'll use a picture to illustrate my point:

As you can see with both of these revolvers, the cylinders are very long. They are made to fit long 410 shotshells.

Now, when you run a cartridge that is shorter, say a 45 Colt or ACP, this cartridge is considerably shorter than a 3" 410 shotshell. So, when the round is fired, the bullet has a long way to travel before it engages the rifling and begins to stabilize/spin. This creates piss poor accuracy as a result.

It's better to buy a gun designed for a specific round, like any 9mm, 40, or 45 on the market. The bullet sits right next to the rifling so that it is stabilized immediately. That is true accuracy.

Us 1911 boys have brains.

Then again, people doubt me having a brain since I like my Beretta and recommend it so highly.

EDIT: If I see that van going down the road, I'm going to lose my shite. If you see a light green SUV with some dude in it going fricking bonkers, know it is me.

Points you make are all good. I think if somebody buys the governor they have to know that they are buying a novelty piece.
