But then you say this:

Once in a generation is once in a generation. It doesn't matter the age. Talent transcends. If Duncan came out at 19, he'd have dominated still. If you base it soley on age, what about 19 year old Durant? He is just as much a string bean. I'm not saying he won't become HOF I'm just saying I expected more. Monty shares just as much blame as Davis.

there's a big difference in being a 4/5 and a 2/3 (durant started out at the 2 his rookie year, as a 7-footer)

Does that guy want our skinny 19 year old big man to play 35 minutes per game?

He's a true 6'9". That said, he actually measured a higher standing reach by 2 inches than Davis at the combine.

without shoes, and i'm pretty sure he's grown since then. durant's height is the new kg height. they both are the rare players who want to be listed shorter than they should be

i'm wondering when they start listing paul george at his true height of 6-10+

I don't give credit for being able to walk in heals.

I haven't found anything to indicate such, but it's always possible.

Not sure where this comes from

Where are you coming up with all of this from? George measured 6'7 3/4" without shoes. Are we assuming he has grown over 2 inches since entering the league?

well nobody's listed heights are close then. very few people have their listed height done that way

KG always wants to be listed at 6-11. it goes back to why he didn't really want to go to college. he sees "7-footer" as a label that would make him a 5 (Which he does play now, but this started almost 20 years ago)

he is over 7-feet (in listed height terms) and is rumored to be in the 7-1 range after he grew in the NBA

but he's still "6-11"

i'd imagine durant's line of thought is similar

paul george seems to be following in that. there are lots of rumors that he grew before last year and is around 6-10 now

...still listed at 6-8

Maybe so. He looks shorter than David West, though.

That's why I don't trust any NBA player's listed height. 7-footer is thrown around quite gratuitously in the NBA world.

in that last pic he's right there with west. not much separates them. he's certainly not 6-8 anymore

and the convo has come full circle

nba heights are one of the remaining big myths about the game (esp once people stop talking about jordan)

as for davis, i thought he'd be a bit better, but he hasn't been bad by any means. not close to disappointing

on a side note, i'm really interested to see what davis and big jonas do next year. before his injury people liked to compare davis to drummond on here, but jonas is playing pretty well for a 20-year old rookie who hasn't played the american game until this year
