Again, subjective. It is not a ripoff to me. Even at the $1.00 a cup I sometimes pay because I'm grabbing a box at store. Worth it to me. Could I save money doing it another way? Sure. Am I getting ripped off? No. I've made a decision that the product is worth my money.

they're essentially getting ripped off. If you're willing to pay twice the price for coffee because the convenience of saving yourself 5-10 minutes is worth it then I have no problem with that; just as long as we're transparent about it.

Dude really, ripped off?
How poor are you?

You do realize some people pay $4.00 for a cup at Starbucks 350 days a year? And it doesn't even matter because the cost is so insignificant to them. I would never say man you're stupid or getting ripped off. More power to them if that's how they choose to drink coffee. I think it's a waste of energy to think otherwise.

Did you not read the post who I was replying to?

A guy who says all people who use Keurigs don't know what coffee tastes and must use sugar and creamer. Now if that's not a generalization. sounds like a snob to me.

Yeah I gotcha. I cleared that up in one of my last posts.

You implied that you did when you call me out for making a generalization when I was replying to a poster who was making a generalization.

Yep. Ripped off.

Yeah they're fricking morons. Starbucks coffee tastes like shite.

As long as they know what they're paying for .. and most do: they're paying for being part of the Starbucks culture. To some it's a validation, to some it's an attempt to be in the in-crowd, to some they have actually deluded themselves that how good it tastes is worth the money, to some they're rich enough where the extra cost is negligible.

They also use this fricking nonsense:

I have two of those in my fridge right now

I also just recently started drinking hot coffee, and would not consider myself a coffee connoisseur.

These people deserve ridicule.

Um it does taste good. So does bread pudding, ice cream, & other desserts. You put enough sugar in anything and it'll taste great.

I am pretty hard to please with coffee and I like K.

The BEST was the Senseo, but that didn't gain the popularity it deserved and the pods were hard to find or expensive. Senseo made a frothy cup of Joe.

It's shite like this that rubs people the wrong way. Not just the fact that you shite on practically everything. You're a judgmental prick. You refer to a group of people as morons then want us to separate that from your "opinions."

quote:

Don't let your personal problems with me stand in the way of legitimate viewpoints. Just trying to have a discussion here; any pre-conceived notions about me being a douche (for whatever reason you have) should be irrelevant.

You need to make up your mind and either simply state your "viewpoints" and have a "discussion" or continue being a douche and calling people morons, idiots, no taste rubes...whatever and not having a discussion. You know damn well you say this shite to incite...not enlighten.

Yes, I know I could learn to use a little more tact when approaching subjects that get me riled up .. but still, oftentimes I don't and it's to be expected that that irks folks and pits them against me. Trust me, I'm trying to be more amicable in my discussions and debates .. both here and IRL.

fwiw, not everyone who drink Starbucks coffee are morons. it should be obvious that using that broad brush is for effect.

What I've learned from this thread:
If you don't brew your own coffee, you're either a.) getting ripped off or b.) a fricking moron.

Sorry my time is worth more than $10 per hour.

Well that's a simple way of putting it. What unnerves me is two-fold: 1) people who refuse to attempt to enlighten themselves and experience more of the world through a more open-minded, logical and refined approach to aspects of society and culture; and 2) corporations who use advertising/marketing campaigns to indoctrinate customers and push their subpar products onto the masses -- and the people who buy into it and support them.

I hope you are having more success in real life. It's not hard here. Just stop before you hit submit. But yeah, you'll pretty much always be considered a snotty douche. You made that bed and continue to keep it warm with shite like this.

" shite like this?" Taking an opposing view to the people who like Keurig machines and the like? Sorry for disagreeing, I guess? Suppose I'm not allowed to criticize people who eat fast food or drink Bud Light and other such nonsense. But that will never cease to be the case. I will forever crusade against that.
