Culturally I'd say MJ at his height was a much bigger deal than LJ but I'm open to differing views.

MJ and it's not even close

dude was the NBA

ETA: LeBron could be just as big of a deal if there weren't so many big-time ballers

MJ and it ain't close

Not a knock on Lebron, but MJ is in a league of his own, when it came to being a big deal.

Can't wait for all the 23 and younger crowd to come in here and say its LBJ.

MJ is probably the biggest reason that basketball is now a global sport. No telling how much money he alone has made the NBA.

Its MJ.

But LeBron is the closest...

Even though he's still far away in terms of being a bigger deal.

Like people say, Magic and Bird saved the NBA. Jordan made it global. And that's not even taking all the endorsements and marketing strategies into account.

MJ is the best of all time, but I'll listen to arguments for Lebron's potential. But in terms of "who is/was a bigger deal?" it's indisputable.

I remember watching that special on ESPN a year or two ago about sports agents, and MJ's was on it. He said that the goal for Nike for the Air Jordan line was to make a profit (of something like $3 million) after like the third year. They ended up making like $200 million year the first year alone. That's how big of a deal MJ was, and that's just his shoe line.

Imagine Jordan in his prime with all this social media shite going on. It would have been unreal.
