What other players in the state (excluding Sims, Godchaux) do y'all see getting offers?

Who may not be at LSU but are big time BCS ballplayers? ala Dobbard, Ellis, Claiborne, Falkins, etc.
Which guys arent big time? Who's names left off?

some names:

McDowell if he can gain some muscle
Palelei will get an offer
I hope Alexander does
Williams I believe will at camp
Rae-Juan I could see camping to get one or being a late offer
Apparently the staff really likes brandon harris

From the above list

Alexander-will have to blow up camp or we'll have to miss on Brown, lose Hardeman, miss on the 3rd guy we want(if we want one) or he makes it in late purely as the best option. I love the kid and think he's a more naturally gifted version of Noel Ellis (25% chance)

McDowell-Just needs to get to 260 or so and he gets offered. I think it happens now that he's focusing squarely on adding bulk and football (89%)

Williams-just a matter of time. He's a top 20-25 back nationally imo and a no brainer even if we land Fournette and another stud from OOS. You don't let a kid like him get away unless it's a Lacy situation (95%)

Paleilei-I'd love to see him offered but I'm not sure it happens. If we want 3 for sure and miss OOS then I can see it. May be a spring eval guy but likely camp (40%)

Harris-All depends on camp. I think Cam is gonna want to see all the kids throw side by side and see who fits the best. It's all up to the kid and the other kids he's competing against (35%)

Isom-same as above except that he seems to want to leave the area. Kid has major talent but is raw (20%)

Gibson-would have to blow away the competition at camp. Don't see it (1%)

Paul-needs to lose weight and impress this spring or at camp, maybe both. Doesn't appear we're gonna take the bait of other majors offering and I'm happy with that. (55%)

Canty-not as informed about him but I think camp is his only shot and with the way the staff is being guarded with instate offers and being selective all around, he'll need a big one. (15%)

Gibson-not a good year to be a S and he doesn't really fit the scheme as an in the box safety. If he could bulk up to play LB then maybe. Could blow up camp but not likely. (1%)

Jones-great frame and good athlete. Better ceiling than the kid we got on late this year. Likely depends on McNeil's situation, OOS options and beating out Ardoin who may be a better talent. (20%)

Ardoin-same as above but I think he may be better than Jones (30%)

Marbley-2 years ago I could see it but this year with Young almost in the bag and the need for a bigger MLB type, I don't see it. Could end up like a Duke Riley situation. Kid can definitely fly around. Wouldn't mind at all if he got in the class. (35%)

Thibodaux-definitely on the radar and I could see it(actually have been conservatively predicting him in the class). Needs bulk and to show out at camp. We'd probably have to miss OOS. Think DT is McDowell and 1-2 OOS stud types (40%)

Roberts-unless he's tied to Fournette or explodes at camp I don't see it. I hear the kid can ball but our DB options are too deep (15%)

Granier-I actually think he's the next instate OL on the board. Good camp and he gets an offer (45%)

I think Godchaux gets offered late due to academics.

Joseph Ledet is an in-state prospect that could separate himself from the pack by a good showing in 7 on 7 this spring and summer (Bootleggers) and a good showing at LSU camp. I think LSU is looking at him only as RB, because the S slots should fillup with elite recruits.

Doesn't matter which Gibson, neither are getting offered unless we miss bad or they suddenly get better or change their style of play. The QB probably has a better shot than Ricky but still a longshot.

Godchaux just needs to improve his test score. I'd expect it now to be late spring around the picnic for his offer. He'll definitely get one at some point. The kid wants it and is motivated. Good kid

It's tough to predict at this time. I have never been near as hung up on "in state vs out of state" as most LSU fans. High schoolers have little to no control on where their parents choose to work and live. I just want kids who want to come to LSU - even if they live in Beirut.

As for Godchaux, I would love for our staff to wait and see if Clark and/or Brown want to commit first. IMO, Clark is a potential 5-star stud, and reportedly has LSU at the top of his list.

Same is true of Sims. We already have Voorhies committed (and he has said that our staff wants him at WR). So, before we accept an offer from Sims, shouldn't our staff wait to see if he is more desirable than Quinn??? Or Noil??? Or Dupre??? Surely, we aren't gonna take 5 WRs in this 2014 class.

Same is true for all those other instate guys. Before we load up on the "maybe's", our staff really needs to gauge the interest of OOS kids (who may be considered better prospects). The only one I for sure want out of that list is Palelei (as I think he can provide value in any number of roles).

Not only does Kendall Ardoin plays WR and TE he plays DE as well he also plays PF/C on our basketball team just a all around athlete at 6'6 219 he can move for a big guy plus he is already academically eligible.

I believe Voorhies will play safety for us.

Damien Boone - North Desoto 6'3 190. 4.7 ish

He was at junior day. I haven't gotten to talk to him about it yet. I was at the state wrestling tourney. His best position is TE, but he looks like an OLB. We line him up everywhere on O and D. He's not a LSU talent, but could play at Miss St, TCU, Ole Miss.....ect

I like Voorhies on the defensive side of the ball, but the staff is telling him they see him on the other side playing wide out.
The kids an athlete and can play several positions successfully. Hopefully we hold on to him.

I think even more important is that Voorhies stated that he is wanting to play receiver at LSU. So if that is his desire, combined with the staff telling him that is where they want him to play - it just seems reasonable that he gets what he wants.

Plus, I think he can help us more at receiver than trying to make his way through that group of studs we are likely to bring in 2014.
