Maybe as a retirement gig. Would be a step down.

Just listen to Mascona on a Friday night doing a high school football game PBP. It is painful on many levels.

I could see Charlie doing baseball, but once Jim retires I doubt they hire one person to do all 3 sports. ALmost no one does that these days.

LSU needs to hire a big time professional football only guy for football.
Offer Jim Henderson the job and tell him to name his salary. Hey Jim, you can also keep your Saints gig too and we'll even fly you out on Saturday after the LSU game to what ever city the Saints will be in on Sunday. None better than Henderson. A broadcast team of Henderson and Moreau would serve LSU football proudly. No reason it can't be done.

I sure hope not. Charles is TERRIBLE. Listening to him is like watching paint dry.

How much would LSU have to pay to get Kevin Harlan to do pbp for football games? He's by far the best radio guy in the business.

Hanagriff, seriously? Ott would be the only local guy with a decent enough voice. And no I don't want Ott. I'm sure that a professional will be brought in when the time comes.

Lol, I remember Tommy Krysan(sp) once saying that he had the "professional" voice...I can't believe he hasn't been called by the big boys yet.

There is no reason to have ONE guy do every sport or hold the job for more than 10 years. Think about it. There are tons of great PBP guys you will never hear do an LSU game because the spot is monopolized by one guy doing every sport. There is no compelling reason to follow this model.

Hanagriff is great for talk radio call in shows. He has the same exact opinion I have, 9 times out of 10. And he can draw up a scenario and present logic better than any of the other clowns who talk about LSU. But he does not have a PBP voice, nor does he have any emotion to do as such. And to be honest, I think he realizes this and would admit it.

I hope not. Hanagriff is so monotone it's pitiful. At least Hawthorne gets into it more. Hanagriff is younger and probably has as much knowledge as anyone associated with LSU but he is as dull sounding as they come. He does have a face made for radio though.

id rather hanagriff with good solid logic, facts and accuracy than someone that gets excited but bumbles the play up. If i am listening on the radio it means im not at the game so id like an accurate description of the game

I think you hit the nail on the head .. Outstanding sports talk show host .. Average to slightly below average PBP guy that will probably cockblock better, more talented people from getting that job ..
