I really really liked pokemon. I could beat anyone...but then I got Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced and I was blown away.
I think I can still name upwards of 85% of the original pokemon.

I haven't played since Diamond/Pearl. (Missed Black/White, Soul Silver/Heart Gold, Black2/White2).
I'll likely be picking up the newest ones to get back into the series.
Some people may guffaw at the fact that it is Pokemon, but if you dig beneath the surface and actually look at the mechanics of the game, it is a really solid RPG.

Blue version FTW.
And Ni No Kuni is a breath of fresh air. Finally, a traditional RPG for the PS3.

Sadly I'm guilty I've beaten just about every one. And yes the gold silver and crystal games are still the best ones.

I haven't played since yellow. I was thinking of picking up Leaf Green or Fire Red which are remakes of the original games.
Ni No Kuni was quite fun as well. Had a little bit of a Pokemon style to it.

My 5 year old daughter plays it all the time on my laptop, via Gameboy Emulator - Yellow and other Pokemon games
