You probably thinking Kobe dragging this Lakers team to a 25-29 record is super impressive, so...

Is Kobe in his prime now? Is he playing in the sucky eastern conference from 5 years ago?

Thanks for complimenting a guy in his 17th season by still subconsciously holding him to the highest standard possible

Oh the good ole' prime Shaq days, Nothing more hilarious to watch him take 4 dribbles to back his man down and just dunk the shite out of him.

They added that play to NBA2K where when you're backing the guy down in the post and he just falls over just because of Shaq

I'm sure these numbers can be parsed down, but LeBron has put up better single season PER numbers than Shaq -- LeBron's best three seasons are better than Shaq's best season. No doubt the rule changes, changes in the pace of game and Shaq's atrocious FT shooting factor in, but it's something to consider for those who'd take Shaq because he's a dominant big man and thus perceived as more efficient.

What's he shooting like 56% from the floor this year?

Shaq did what he wanted. There was no discussion.

This I agree with

That is part of what made him so dominant. Everyone on the court, everyone in the arena, and everyone watching on TV knew exactly what was going to happen when he got the ball, and he did it anyway.

Not relevant.

Always bringing up stuff that has zero to do with the conversation.

Always.

Is what Kobe doing this year as a leader of the lakers impressive?

When I mean take a high percentage shot, I mean from where they are on the floor. Centers take high percentage shots because of their position on the court.

Like I said, it's about your philosophy of basketball. I guess I'm a little old school.

I'm 100% certain you've been saying on this board that Lebron has hit his prime and wouldn't get better for a couple of seasons now, and yet you're laughing at this guy?

Par for the course.

His career high in PER came 4 years ago.

Considering Jordan never even MADE it to 17 seasons, I'd say yeah.

Which is why i'd take Lebron in this era of basketball.

Zones have killed that style. You just can't dump the ball into the post and let guys back their men all the way under the rim, anymore.

Big men have basically turned into guys that wait for dump offs from players driving the lane.

I know...with all this Shaq hyperbole in this thread...I was starting to wonder what titles am I missing that he won before Kobe/Phil and Co. with the Lakers?

LeBron is contemporary and he's easier to nitpick...Shaq is being a little mythologized. This is a close question and more about preference in shaping your team.

No I understand, but the reason you like high percentage shots is because they go in at a high percentage. 56% is a high percentage and a lot of those are in the paint anyway

well considering Shaq's poor free throw shooting, their TS% (true shooting percentage) are nearly identical.

Let's throw in the fact that Lebron, on average, gets 7 assists per game, its easy to come to the conclusion that Lebron is creating more points for his team than Shaq is, with the same amount of efficiency,
