what people dont realize is that it was two different projects the state released. the first one was from the split to a few feet past siegen. the second one was from the end of the first project to highland road. if you want to be mad at someone, let it be the state for not putting all of the work out at once. they ae the ones who staggered the bids for this work.
and want to talk about crappy la contractros, the Texas contractor is the reason the first portion is not open yet.

Just a head's up guys, there are two different projects ongoing but it looks like one. From the split to Siegen is one project, and that is what could be striped to completion.
The section from Siegen to Highland is another project with another schedule, and it started after the previous section. That section still has some bridge to be completed and some other smaller roadwork, and it won't be done until April-ish.
ETA: Looks like some posters covered this already, good work.

And then they will begin from Highland to Hwy 22 in Sorrento when that part's completed. Wonder if that project will take a decade as well?

It's already completed at the 10-12 split till past siegen!
Traffic which is usually at a standstill around 5 at Essen and bluebonnet was flowing with no delays!

Yep, they already have it staked. I don't know the contractor, but it's a little more open in those sections and TBH the existing surface looks like it's in real good shape. I'm not sure if they are replacing the full width or just adding the third lane on boths sides.

Also, the I-12 section from Walker to Satsuma that will start this year. But that section is a good distance from BR so it is hard to call it a Baton Rouge project at this point.
