CDMA makes it next to impossible to switch out phones or jump carriers. So for that reason alone my opinion stands.

All phones should be GSM. Its global.

Only Sprint and Verizon think differently. For those who laugh at this. Why is Sprint so far behind?
Why is Verizon so bad with customer service?

I much prefer the ability to change a SIM card and jump phones.

The only reason I am not paying a flasher, is I feel they deal in stolen phones, and I have moral issues with that.

Yep.

85% of the world's cell phones are GSM. Means GSM usually get newer phones 1st and your GSM phone will work in any country and a CDMA phone basically won't

Well my mind was made up.
Not my choice though. My girl just texted me *and said she got me a Sprint S3 on her plan.

Not what I wanted but she is calling it a Hallmarks day gift.

So I guess I will sell my two CDMA phones as I have a new S3. In two years I will try this again.
She said she added google voice to her phone and it now works with sprint, so I can add my business line.

And she ported my old phone number.

,,,but its Sprint :-( means its slow, bad coverage, and only a tri-band radio (The VZW GS3 while CDMA actually still works in every country as its quad band)

*people will say "How are you getting texts, without a phone?" Well because Google Voice is magic and everyone should get it. Seriously.
Texting from my tablet. or phone or computer.

Plus I have my tech's old prepaid phone too.

If you want you can even use Google Voice to get an unlimited type plan for only $30 a month with tmobile. TMobile has a $30 prepaid plan that comes with only 100 minutes but unlimited data. If you route all calls in and out of your phone through Google Voice, you will essentially have an unlimited plan. Several apps available to accomplish this. And overage minutes using voice only cost $0.10 per minute

Sprint isn't bad, they just haven't built their LTE network completely yet. I know a lot of the guys working on the Vision Project in Louisiana as well as other Tier 2 and 3 markets. We built their network in Atlanta last year. Their speeds aee good once they switch to LTE from Ericsson.
