So he doesn't turn it over 1.2 times per 25 minutes of action with minimal ball-handling duties?

One player is middle of the pack of SF's in Turnover Ratio, the other is dead last.

One player is a rookie, the other is in his third year.

A missed rebound costs the same number of possessions as a turnover

The Warriors must really be controlling the media leak, because every media outlet is making it seem like the Warriors would be taking on such a burden, and that Klay is more valuable so we would have to take on all of this crap. The flipside is the reality, GSW better be giving up more than Klay and a shite contract.

So, his being a rookie makes it acceptable to be worse than who those here call the worst SF in the NBA?

If Aminu is terrible, Barnes is terrible, but he's a terrible rookie.

Well, they would be getting a 24-year-old 2-guard who can't play in back-to-back games.

Yep. They are trying to weaken our position by taking Gordon's legs out from under him thinking that we're "shopping" him.

But Barnes is not terrible in turnover ratio

He's middle of the pack = mediocre. Not terrible

If Barnes is a terrible rookie, what does that make Rivers?

Doesn't and can't mean different things. He is being held out as a structured rehab.

I think both teams are in a tough spot. We'd be giving up a key part of our future so we want value in return. And GSW is reluctant to give up that much because of his injury issues. That's why I simply don't see this trade happening by the deadline.

I didn't say he was. He's not good, though.

I'm talking about his entire game, not his turnovers. Aminu shoots a higher percentage from the field than Barnes. Let that sink in.

Strictly a rehab thing, and he will be able to barring re-injury in the future. In addition, Gordon has far, FAR more upside than Klay.

I don't think Barnes is terrible. I don't think Aminu is terrible, either. However, if Aminu is terrible, so is Barnes. My point is that people need to temper their enthusiasm about these guys a bit. The greener grass is deceiving sometimes.

So you do understand that a single stat outside of any context is not a good way to judge a player

I agree with Jester here.

Aminu is a TO machine, but he also rebounds better than most bigs- including 3 of the 4 on the Hornets roster. It's a trade off- his rebounding and perimeter D for his bad TO habit.

They do need to find a SF that can complement Aminu's game with some offensive/creating punch. But that doesn't mean Aminu isn't very useful for this team going forward

Possessions Created:

Total Rebounds + Total Steals - Total Turnovers

Food for thought...

There is no guarantee AFA will even be on this team next year. That alone makes Barnes more attractive. shite go get AFA in the offseason and pair him with Barnes if you want.
