I gotta put Warren Morris in there!
it's been mentioned several times, but that was not lucky. let's, for the sake of argument, say it wasn't a homerun and only a double. the game is tied with morris on 2nd base. morris batted .400 for the season. he hit .369 in 95 with 8 home runs. there's a difference in a lucky play and a clutch play. a game winning home run is not lucky. i've always thought it was a disservice to morris as a player when people make it out to be he was the least likely guy to come up with a clutch hit when he was arguably the best contact hitter on the team outside of eddy furniss and maybe jason williams.

Agreed. After being down several times, and by as much as 3 at one time IIRC, the team put themselves in a position to tie (even with a shallow single, 'cause we had a guy on 3rd) or win the ballgame. Then Morris made great contact on a great pitch. Probably the most exciting sport ending I've ever seen - but I wouldn't call it luck.

yeah and also, just to add more to morris' value as a player
- that year he was drafted in the 5th round of the draft
- he was the starting 2nd basemen for team USA in the olympics, where he led the team in hitting with a .409 average and 5 home runs in 9 games
- he was runner up for the ROY for the Pirates
- had a 5 year MLB career where he had a career .267 average
i'm done. sorry, i just hate the revisionist history of warren morris. it was arguably the most memorable moment in college baseball history, but it just gets old hearing the "omg, that was his only home run of the season." it makes for a good story telling it like that, but that tends to happen when you miss most of the season with a broken wrist.

2000 Bama game where the refs go out of their way to look at the screen in the stadium. To figure out a call.
Was that the game in Tiger Stadium where we were ahead by a few points late in the 4th, Bama kicksoff to us, I believe it was a normal catch and normal tackle, and for some inexplicable reason the refs were about to give the ball to Bama, deep in our territory and for no apparent reason?
As I recall there was no instant replay, but a replay was on the stadium screen and everybody screamed and pointed until the officials looked at it and then gave the ball to us.
If I recall that correctly it was bizarre. Had they given the ball to Bama, and if they would've scored to win the game there literally woulda been a fricking riot.

Auburn 2005. One of the quirkier games of modern history.
Auburn outgains us by over 100 yards of offense and misses 5 field goals

2010 Florida when Jasper got the ball on a hop and ran for the first down.
That's a good one.

But it was still lucky in the sense that the guy was a game time decision to play second, because he was still feeling pain in it the night before.
It's only revisionist history if people say "OMG HE WASN'T EVEN A GOOD HITTER", it's not to say "OMG IT WAS HIS FIRST HOME RUN" because, if you knew his injury history up to that point, then yeah it was remarkably lucky that that was the outcome.

Game 1 of the Texas series in the CWS final in 2009. D.J. LeMahieu stepped up so huge in his last two at bats. The last at bat he gets a two out double to tie the game up (in the 9th, nonetheless). It was so friggin' hot for that game too!!!!! But worth it
LSU should have not won that game!

Suprised that Oregon State (2004) isn't mentioned along side the 2005 Auburn game.
22-21 OT win.
3 missed PAT's (one securing the victory) > 5 missed FG's IMO

How about early 90's Vandy @ TS? Vandy about to go in for a one yard score to ice it, and the dude fumbles to Wayne Williams @ the goal line. A HORRIBLE Vandy team.

opener of 2010, north carolina tight end drops 2 catches in the end zone, if he catches either one lsu loses. miss. st in 09, 1st & goal from the 1 & they don't run dixon & lose. troy kept throwing the ball instead of running some clock when they were up 28, giving lsu time to make the comeback

2011 UGA SEC TITLE GAME. If UGA doesn't drop two td passes... That game is WAY different.
