In the spirit of the "were we robbed" threads, I figured we can list them here. I'm sure LSU has gotten their share of breaks along the way, but I'll save that for another day. My list includes:

1. USC 1979 - those USC linemen moved early and it should have wipped out the facemask call. It should have been 3rd and 20 with less than 3 minutes remaining.

2. Indiana 1987 - Bobby Knight should have been ejected in the 1st half for punching the phone. After that, the refs were intimidated. Woodside kicked Alford's arse until they fouled him out using bone crushing double screens.

3. Auburn 2006 - This was a bagman game from beginning to end. Pick any of several plays. This game flat out sucked.

4. Arkansas 1992 - Oliver Miller knocks Shaq flat on his back at the buzzer in a tied game, with the SEC title on the line. Arkansas mugged LSU the entire 2nd half. The Shaq play was just the icing on the cake.

5. Alabama 2009 - Peterson interception was the ultimate, but there were many other plays. JJ's 1st down that wasn't. JJ gets speared by a player launching himself...no call. 4th and 6 and LSU jumps...5 yard penality, but Bama gets a 1st down.

There are others such as Auburn 2004 and the hidden ball trick by Irvine, but this is my top 5 bitch list.

Whatever year it was we lost because the refs called that stupid penalty that gave Aubbie a second shot at the PAT or FG.

that's a pretty solid list.

UT loss in 59 kept us from winning 2 in a row.

As far as that Arky game, it was the icing on the cake for Shaq's last season. The SEC was clearly not giving a shite if he wound in traction after his LSU career. You can pick a number of games in Shaq's last two years that were horribly called.

I remember UT upsetting us one year and they were throwing shoulders and elbows into their screens.

That goes down in my book as one of the most fantastic plays in LSU history.

Unfortunately it wasn't. BUT IT WAS!

Great list, I remember them all!

And though a few of them were heavily biased for some junctures, and/or majority, Refgate on the Plains(was there in person) 2006 was the most crooked hosejob wire-to-wire..

Line opened Aub -3, finished -3.5 and 4, despite much two-way action, and my crew saw the refs laughing their asses off as the motorcade drove by after the game..true story.

From the 3rd down conversion to Hester that was overturned to the missed Int at the end and all the shitty calls in between. This one was brutal.

1969, when the Tigers had a gentlemen's agreement to play Texas in the Cotton Bowl for what would have been the national championship. When Notre Dame broke its bowl ban, Texas jumped at the chance to avoid what was Cholly Mac's best team. We lost to Archie 26-23 for our only loss. By the way, Ole Miss beat Arkansas (Arkansas played Texas for #1 at the end of the regular season and should have won) handily in the Sugar Bowl. The Longhorns were strictly a running team and would have been stopped cold by the great LSU defense.

I remember the game against Auburn where they were aiming for Dorsey's knees almost every single snap. I'll never forget just wanting to storm the field and beat the crap out of them with a tire iron or something.

This. Nothing else really approaches it. Fixed game. The infamous OU-Oregon game occurred the same day. Worst day in history of NCAA officiating.

Tennesse basketball when the clock started 4 seconds too late and allowed them to score the winning basket as time expired. Don Devoe was a prick to run his team off the court while the refs were looking at video. Pisses me off to this day. Not really. I have a life.

Even Eli Gold, Alabama's network announcer, said Peterson was in bounds and had intercepted the pass.
