re: We Watched a Dictator in the Making Tonight

I can play this game too...

Loyalists: "Let's stay an english colony, the king isn't so bad."
Revolutionaries: "No."

Slave-owners: "Let's make slavery legal in the north as well, cause everyone should own some slaves."
Abolitionists: "No."

Segregationists: Blacks need to remain second class citizens and ride on the back of the bus!!
Civil-righters: "No."

Looks like it's good to say No!!!

I am now in favor of total political power for the Democrat Party. We can no longer have the Repubs in control of the House, or any other part of FedGov. We need to have an extended period of time, say, a decade, of absolute political domination of our politics by this Democrat Party, and the policies of this Democrat Party.

President Obama will show us the way. I applaud him. Let his policies be absolutely implemented without resistance from any faction or dissident.

Let the lesson be learned through experience.

Haha, how anyone believes that either party is the "right" party is absurd. Why the hell can't people realize that there is some degree of truth (just as there is some degree of fallacy) in every party ever created.

The problem with political parties as a whole is that they divert the individual's identity to extremes. So few people, from either party, are able to say "I disagree with Obama on A, B, C and agree with him on D, E, F." Nope, he is just a dictator hell bent on the downfall of "the unequivocal greatest country of all time."

Even rarer is people in an actual position to make changes for the better (namely, politicians) doing something because they feel it to be truly right, rather than what is expected of a democrat or republican. What we have created is a mass of people tilted to one of two varying extremes and a subset of those people who are so desperate to keep their power that they refuse to deviate from any of their preconceived notions to work for actual bipartisan improvement.

And worse of all, this creates a perpetual confirmation bias, where two people in two different parties can observe identical information and interpret it as support of their own illogical initial opinion, which they deem to be infallibly correct. This only creates further polarization and deteriorates our already minimal chance of accomplishing anything of significance in this fricked up political system that we have allowed to be created.

You're absolutely right. That is why when the dems had full control in his first two years really helped that along. Also, when was the last time the pres and the senate put together a budget? Now you are starting to get it....well done man, well done. Keep it up and you just may start pulling your head out of Obama's arse and see some daylight.

Layabout

Funny thing, that's what I and a healthy majority of the American people saw whenever Mittens opened his mouth.

---------------------

Sure , like you know anything about Romney not crammed down your throat by either Obama's 700 million negative lie campaign or the leftist media smear campaign.

Truth , you don't have a clue about Romney.

But we do know about Obama

Liar ,spender ,Marxist in college ( joined a Marxist group ) Worst economy since the 30s etc etc

Funnystuff

No one believe either party in full is great in sum total. They both have tyrants , thieves ,liars and so on.As a matter of fact I think 80% of them are crooks because we have allowed our system to become a " legal fiefdom " run by lawyers.

My biggest problem is we now have a tyrannical media and they are sold out for the leftist causes insomuch that they are willing to out and out lie and deceive to make " their vision " of America come to pass.

If you don't believe they can push and form the young ,unintelligent minds, ask yourself why do both parties spend 100s of millions on adds ?

Because they work, hence the unchallenged propaganda of the media is far more dangerous because most expect the media to tell the truth.

This is the exact type of thinking that I can never comprehend.

"I know everything and you know nothing!"

Do people not realize how narcissistic that is? Truth is, you know part of Obama's story/personality/desires, just as Libs know part of Romney's. You can argue the semantics of who knows more all day, but the bottom line is, neither side knows enough because they have shut themselves off to the possibility that their perceived opponent (and I say perceived because we are all suppose to have the same agenda, making our country better) has anything of value to add.

You 'good 'ol boys' were never planning on voting for, working along, or agreeing with anything this President had to say, even if some of that reflected GOP thinking. It was always going to be a policy of no, whether we were in economic surpluses or financial bliss.

That's cause 90% of what comes out of his mouth is a lie. The other 10% is him blaming it on either Bush or the Republicans.

This is his fault now. He's had four years and he's made it worse than any president before him.

Those of us who know basic high school math understand exactly what Obama has done and what he wants to do.

So knowing everything is not close to even being a requirement.

The majority of these "liberal media" centers are owned by wealthy republicans. If the media had a political agenda in the pure sense, they would be extremely heavy on the right end of the spectrum because that is what their owners would force.

Rather, media has developed a different focus all together: money. As such, the media at its core has become an entertainment industry. Media will sell whatever it is that people are willing to buy. And in the culture we have created, people buy extremes, and the media gives them what they want. Democrats love the media because it confirms their preconceived notion so they watch. Republicans hate that someone disagrees with them publicly so they fight the media and try to change it. This only makes the democrats like it more (because after all, republicans are their enemy), thus creating a greater demand for liberal media and earning the wealthy republican owners even more money. And of course, more money is all that matters, so the media continues to be diluted away from truth and towards extremes.

In sum, I agree with you that the media has an obvious agenda. I just disagree with you on what that agenda is.

I agree that Obama's plans for the economy are no where near sufficient. I agree that he has a general attitude towards expanding government, which I feel is directly contrary to what our country needs right now (that's why I voted for Romney).

I disagree that 90% of what he says is a lie. I believe that he believes the majority of it to be true.. That said, I do believe that he, in full awareness, will lie to the country at times because he views it to be for our own good. However, this is a trait that I believe 90% of politicians to share, republicans included.

I just disagree with anyone who claims that we know with absolute certainty that Obama will make our country unequivocally worse. There are things he will do which will have a negative effect on our future and there are things he does which will be good for our country.

But the opinion that everything he does is doomed for failure is the ideology that makes accomplishing anything of significance in politics so difficult. And even though I am using this as an example, the exact same logic holds for the Democrats approach to dealing with the Republicans. The problem is that each side believes so fully that they are correct that our politicians cater to this polarization so that they maintain their position of power. This creates a political culture that in painfully inefficient.

re: We Watched a Dictator in the Making Tonight

FUNNY

Wrong , I did not even like Romney as the republican choice but I learned about his ideals by searching what he had done and by researching for myself.

No leftist Dem. ever tried to find out the truth about the man or his deeds.I do know he is capitalist and I also know by researching that Obama is a Marxist.

Any sane person could see by his answer to Joe the plumber what he stands for.

The only way these progressives / libs get elected when the country is 40 % conservative 20% lib is the leftist media and the brain washing of our kids from 1st grade through college.

I have seen proof that in the early 70s the homosexuals had a " convention " and they decided the best way to make themselves main stream was through vocabulary and the media , so they all agreed they should use the word " GAY " over and over ( means happy ) and get the media elites to push their agenda by telling stories of their abuse etc etc .

Then you get elementary school kids getting the book Heather has 2 mommies etc etc.

I dont trust neither party AT ALL.

My main focus is in my opinion these guys should all be prosecuted for malfeasance ,we pay 40% of all revenue we take in to FAT BANKERS for interest INTEREST , now thats a joke and every congress person is guilty.

As long as we have a media that has an agenda instead of telling the truth 100% percent of the time we are nigh to the end.

Within 10 years this country is going to lead a world wide economic collapse like we have never seen and everything is alright with the ignorant people who will be standing in soup lines....sigh

re: We Watched a Dictator in the Making Tonight

I think we actually have more in common than our conversation is revealing. For example,
quote:

I dont trust neither party AT ALL
I can't agree more with this statement.
quote:

As long as we have a media that has an agenda instead of telling the truth 100% percent of the time we are nigh to the end.
Same here.

My opinions are just a little less intense on many of these things.

My disagreement in the realm of the media is that their agenda is based solely on obtaining profits. They may promote liberal ideas to do this, but the goal is not to promote the left. It is to make money off of their opinions.

Also,
quote:

No leftist Dem. ever tried to find out the truth about the man or his deeds
I agree that the vast majority put in very little effort to do so. However, the same can be said about republicans and any given democratic leader. Just because you do your homework doesn't the majority of republicans did.

By and large, in any political election (not just president), an individual with strong personal ties to a specific party will learn just enough about their "opponent" to rationalize their hatred towards that person. Republicans will pick whatever information they need to confirm their hatred of Obama, just as Democrats will pick whatever information they need to confirm their hatred of any given republican running for office.

This is not confined to politics, but is a trait of the human personality. Human beings tend towards a "confirmation bias." That is, they will interpret information in a way that confirms preconceived notions they possess. This leads to something called attitude polarization, in which a disagreement becomes more intense as either side is presented the same evidence on an issue. This is a faulty aspect of our human personality and the political landscape is an absolutely perfect example of the failure this personality trait creates.

--------------------------------------

I don't agree that he will be the dictator of the U.S.

I do believe this tyrant might one day be the Sec. General for the U.N. and that's when he would become a world dictator.

He can't become world dictator until he destroys the economy...

By the way I am kidding folks...
