You're right, listing a large number and then 2 years isn't trying to make the reader infer anything at all.

You do realize how pathetically small 380K is in the real world? Commercials for the Super Bowl are now in the million dollar range for a minute.

I support limited government, reduced taxes, drastically reduced spending, and balancing the budget. I guess I am being secretly controlled by the Koch Brothers. Come on Decatur, you don't think that just perhaps people may have picked up on the "Tea Party" name because of the role that the Boston Tea Party played on our nations view on taxes? It has to be some conspiracy?

Derp, the CSE separated into two PACs but still overseen by the same people so I am astounded that the logo would be similar. How does the Tea Party Express fit into your little conspiracy theory?

Guys, Ron Paul is being controlled by the Koch Brothers! LINK
quote:
"This basically shows that Ron Paul is a viable candidate," said Rachael McIntosh, a spokeswoman for what was dubbed Boston TeaParty07. "People are so engaged in this campaign because it’s coming from the grass-roots." The supporters of the Texas congressman pick anniversaries of such historical events to highlight what they call the "Ron Paul Revolution."
LINK
quote:
ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As activists across the country hold national tea parties, Campaign for Liberty president John Tate issued the following statement: “The concept of the modern day Tea Party began on December 16, 2007 when supporters of Ron Paul’s presidential campaign came together and raised over $6 million online in one day. The tremendous success of that event lead activists in the freedom movement and members of the Campaign for Liberty to begin planning today’s Tax Day Tea Parties
But the phrase "tea party" could only come from the Koch Brothers since it has no historical significance in this country.

Even if true, so what? American patriots have certainly been wealthy leaders in the past. Washington, Jefferson and Madison were leaders of industry in their day. Washington grew tobacco too.

My goodness. This OP is fricking comedy gold. One can only come to the conclusion that with the internet, people can be led to believe ANYTHING if it already conforms to their ideological beliefs. Good fricking lord. This shite is embarrassing. It really is starting to look as if the concept of democracy(democratic republic) is doomed. The people are idiots.

TBH, not really. I don't pay attention to neither group. So, there symbols are similar and both groups were probably started by the same people. What's the big deal?

Guys, the Koch Brothers were pushing the Tea Party thing back in 1975 as well. Oh yea, and they run the Libertarian Party. LINK
quote:
During the fall of 1975, a former president of FAWCO, Sonja Minçbère, came often to the Chamber of Commerce to keep our paperwork moving. In the afternoon we would have our cup of tea, usually discussing how to get more people to write more letters to more congressmen. And then one day, suddenly, Sonja picked up her tea bag, waved it around and said “Tea Party, Boston!” She had found the solution. It was simple, direct, and catchy. We wrote a brief message on AARO stationary: In 1773 there was a tea party in Boston Harbor because of no representation. In 1975, we mail you this tea bag because of the Overseas Voters Rights Act, So that in 1976 we will be able to vote for you. Support H.R. – 3211 and S.-95 A short coverletter was prepared, telling the addressees to staple a tea bag to the letter and mail it to their congressmen. All we had to do then was to send one copy to everyone on our mailing list, counting on them to copy and distribute as many as possible. And so they did.

Citizens for a Sound Economy (CSE) was established in 1984 by David H. Koch and Charles G. Koch of Koch Industries. "CSE received almost $5 million from various Koch foundations between 1986 and 1990, and David Koch and several Koch Industries employees serve[d] as directors of CSE and the CSE Foundation."[1] In 1989, CSE purchased the financially troubled Tax Foundation and operated it as a subsidiary from CSE's offices until the split in 2004.[2][disputed – discuss] In 2003, Dick Armey became the chairman of CSE after retiring from Congress.[3] In 2004, Citizens for a Sound Economy split into FreedomWorks, for 501c4 advocacy activity, and Americans for Prosperity Foundation. Dick Armey stayed as chairman of FreedomWorks, while David Koch stayed as Chairman of Americans for Prosperity Foundation.
