Let me ask you this Bigapple......24 hours after Chris Dorner was linked with the killings in LA, his former college football coach was interviewed by the national media. How many of Obama's former professors or classmates were interviewed DURING his campaign for President?
Let me ask you this Dante... What in god's name does an out of control killer's news cycle have to do with interviewing a Presidential candidate' former acquaintances? What point do you expect to further with that comparison except that you're a bat shite loon? (here's to you toothpick...at least your brand of crazy was entertaining)

Only because the MEDIA projects that image.....do you really think someone in the hood thinks Obama is hip?

The fact that you don't get the point is very telling.

I'm not talking about that kind of "hip". You can act cool in an adult way by the way you act. Denzel Washington is one of the coolest people I can think of by the way he acts.

You would probably do that too if no one every called you on your bull shite or held you accountable for your failures. There are many sheep who think Obama can do absolutely no wrong.

Are you saying that Fox News and a multitude of conservative news outlets didn't exist or were they complicit in the cover-up or simply negligent? They sure found and interviewed every relative in Kenya. Could they not find Obama's classmates?

You misunderstand me, and you misunderstand human nature and the ignorance of the average voter. First of all, I am most concerned with the economy and actual issues. But I recognize there is an emotional element to how people view a "leader" as part of human nature. It goes back to the Kennedy / Nixon debate. People who listened on the radio thought Nixon won. Those who watched it on tv thought Kennedy won. Because Kennedy projected the confidence and coolness of a leader. Also, I recognize the average voter is an idiot, and will often put style over substance. The republicans have to get with the program, or be seen as the party of old nerds.

This isn't the reason the GOP lost the presidency. Just look at the November elections in 2010. Largest transfer of power fr one party to the next in the history of the United States. The GOP are doing things right. They just put a very soft conservative up for president.

Obamas numbers were way down last election. The problem was, so was Romneys.

What the OP describes is exactly why Obama is sitting president right now. He is more charismatic. Bottom line. That is how this country votes now. Style > Substance. People are swooned by Obama. I've never seen anything like it in a politician in my life. People are so swooned that it matters very little what comes out of his mouth.

It depends on who the candidates are. A lot of Republicans were also going up against other people like them... not "cool" candidates. Plus, midterm elections don't bring out the same type of idiot voter as a presidential election because only the more dedicated vote in midterms. But why do you think Obama has been able to win the presidency the first time with such little experience? Did he just have such a good message that he could beat Biden and Hilary and others after being a virtual unknown?
