The Florida Keys, another good recommendation. And I believe Southwest flies there.

Islamorada. Plenty of shite for the kids to do and is the best fishing destination in the world.

Red Reflet Ranch in Ten Sleep, Wyoming. It's pricey but worth it. Best vacation of my life.

Yosemite. They have an incredible hotel in the park if you don't want to camp/RV

San Francisco is really cool and has lots to do in the city (Alcatraz, Golden Gate, Fisherman's Wharf, cable cars, Lands End, etc) and also has really cool day trips outside the city (wine country, Carmel, Monterey, big sur/redwoods). But if the family hasn't been to NY, then NY. Honolulu is cool too...

What kid activities are there in Islamorada? Seriously want to know. Considering the keys this summer, but I keep being told Key West isn't too kid friendly...

I love Charleston but it is very hot in the summer. I would head west or northwest. Pick a National park or head up the Pacific Northwest.

Four years old may be young for NY. Yellowstone was a great suggestion. Also, Skyline Drive/Blue Ridge Parkway would be fun for the kids with plenty of choices in lodging and things to do.

Do you enjoy the outdoors/camping? Arkansas is a good option.
