I know the Fontenot boy in passing. He seems like a decent kid. Has always been respectful and I have only seen him with decent company.
All I heard this morning was that they were breaking into his truck. This is all from the Fontenot camp. Also heard the vehicle the boys were in had stolen items.
Either way it'll be very interesting watching this one play out under LA law.

My old man does maritime insurance defense so I've been taught a lot as I've grown up. Helps that I'm really interested in learning the law. Still deciding on whether or not to go to law school

If they were breaking into his car he can use deadly force in Louisiana. The law was meant to stop carjackings but the way it's worded means it applies to all attempted unlawful entering of a motor vehicle. Now in order for this to apply they had to have been in the act of breaking in or having broken in already when he shot them. He can't just assume they're going to break into his car and shoot them on the street.
