All I got is that some guy was getting pissed off because people were breaking into his truck, thought that the truck passing by was the same person and shot at it. But like I said nothing is confirmed yet

makes sense. you cant just blast someone for breaking into your unoccupied vehicle in louisiana(if the reports are true).
he would have had to have unknowingly walked out and ran into them breaking in his shite and then the teens try to attack him in a life threatening situation.
go outside confront and then blast perps breaking into your truck = no no.
walk outside to get something out of your truck and get surprised by perps breaking into your truck. perps point object at you then you blast them = good to go.
dont talk to the police in these situations. you never gain anything by talking to the police. he probably incriminated himself.

they dont necessarily have to be armed. but you cant act like a renegade and run out your house with the intent to shoot someone breaking into your vehicle.
if he walked out to get something out of his truck and was caught by surprise by 3 individuals looking to jump on him then it is justified whether they are armed or not. he just has to feel like they are putting him in danger, which most people would agree that a 3 on one situation where the 3 perps had already broken into his vehicle would be a dangerous situation.

Right, but I think the prosecutor will use the kids' being in the car as evidence of them fleeing. I don't think Fontenot had proper training. Rule #1 that they teach you in classes is you can't shoot at a fleeing party.

not in LA
you have to have the specific intent to kill somebody and you have to be doing a certain set list of things (armed robbery and other violent crimes) or killing a certain type of person (too old, too young, prosecutor, judge, cop, etc)
