A friend of mine in DC posted a pic of it on IG.

He cut some strawberries and let them soak in a bottle of crown for a month, thereby making lil fruity shots.

Im thinking about trying it, anyone else done this before?

What is with the love of CR on this board? I'm not hating, I just don't get it.

So what do you consider to be good? I ask because if I'm not drinking Scotch I prefer Crown.

I'm a bourbon fan, so I am a bit biased, but have you not tried any irish whiskeys like Red Breast? How about rye, american or canadian? how about Forty Creek if you must stick with a standard Canadian whisky?

I'm just always amazed at how much CR gets brought up here. They must advertise quite a bit in Louisiana. Again, not hating, it's just that for a mediocre label, they sure do feel the love. It's almost like reading at least one thread a week on how great Budweiser is.

Strawberries break down and Crown is not a preferred choice. But get a good Kentucky bourbon and fill a jar of cherries with it and let soak. This is a good old Southern treat. Longer they soak the better and they don't break down. I keep a jar and when someone here wants a bourbon I add a couple cherries. Nice touch.

Strawberries in vodka flavor it much quicker anyway if you want strawberries. Pineapple does well in vodka too.

This is the way plantation ladies did it. It wasn't polite for them to sip on hard booze so they would instead soak fruit in the booze to serve to their female guests.

Do any of these fancy brands come with an awesome purple bag?

Mango and pineapple is a good combo for vodka. 14 days...but he fruit is history after that.

I tried a piece of pineapple once after the two weeks, and almost died.

We do it with rum. Goes great in desserts or milkshakes.

I pretty regularly infuse bourbon with hibiscus flowers. Very good and only takes about 10 minutes, as compared to a month with fruits.

Soak white raisins in gin for a couple of weeks. Eat three or four raisins each day. Totally takes care of aches, pains, arthritis, etc.

No, but perhaps that purple bag and gold writing explains the Louisiana love.
