I have heard that the coach at JC hates LSU

You heard wrong. There was a little deal-e-o in the 80's where he was "promised" the OC position and got snubbed by Archer but I think JC never really held that against LSU.

Not saying your FOS MrLSU but I saw one Only one JC game this year which was the championship game and Duke Riley stood out. Best player on the field, no question.

JCC is a tumor in the state, luckily they produce few D1 players. I don't know if JCC is as big on holding kids back a year as Evangel, to get that extra year of growth in, but that advantage at the HS level disappears in college.

It does produce some great HS teams.

This list includes almost every player that has been recruited from JC since 2002 according to Rivals

On that list there are only two players that LSU offered that signed elsewhere. And by elsewhere I mean USC.

Care to explain or do you just throw comments out like that to seem like a hardass?

Also what players who didn't pick LSU from JC had at-least a good college career.

your thread doesn't deserve a response but...

Mike Stonebreaker, Jonothan Wells, Tony Bua, Reggie Dupard, Steve Clark...

historically Curtis has not had the number of signees that most people think.

I have little problem with him steering his kids wherever. I just hate the fact that calling that place an "academic institution" is a complete joke. I remember him driving to Shreveport post katrina to drag joe mcknight back to river ridge to live with JC and play ball. He recruits at a pathetic rate. The kids also are educated in the same system for as long as there is competitive football at whatever level at Curtis.

Problem with this theory is that there are age maximums in place that prevent abuses of the system.

You are right, I believe the max age to play football is 18. That means you can hold a student back for 1 year and he can play as a senior. That is an important growth year, so it is an advantage in HS, but theoretically that advantage disappears at the next level.

It is very common even for non-athletic kids whose parents want them to be the oldest in a class for academic reasons.

They have to be held back before HS. At Curtis, the parents often ask for this, as they are aware of the depth charts of their kids' class. The age limit rule, I think, is you can't be 19 at the start of the first semester. Kids that make 19 after, say, Sept 1st, are eligible.

Since 2000, every kid from Curtis who had an LSU offer has come to LSU besides Joe McKnight. You'll hear debate on whether Roby Green had an offer or not, but I don't think he did.
