no offense, but you seemed to be too emotionally invested to speak on this topic

i would probably put boo in the same category

you both want a Louisiana brewery to be successful soooooooooo bad. and you know what, i hope they are successful.

you both have seen a lot more than i have, but i will reserve judgment until i try more offerings. canebreak and grand reserve are good for their style, but nothing i would consider groundbreaking.

i look forward to trying those more adventerous offerings.

I was thinking he was leaving florida out of "south east" because Hunahpu is prob the best in the SE and doubt it lose its title soon

To be honest I did not include Cigar City in my original thought process. Realized afterwards that Cigar City was included and decided not to change my statement.

And because I really like Jai Alai.

It never stood out to me, and I really didn't like the Maduro.

The Hunahpu stout is really tasty though. At least I remember it being good, only tried a little at one of our tastings.

I guess I'm in the minority that doesn't really see their hype.

I really like some of the stuff Terrapin has done, though
I havent had enough to know about Cigar City's hype. I think most of it comes from the fact that FLorida was seriously lacking good beer.

I've only had 5-6 of their beers. I'm a big fan of jai alai (first one I had came from my first trade w/ you btw), and thoroughly enjoyed thier winter warmer and jose marti porter.

two years ago, they made a fantastic Black IPA for thier select series. If they bottled it and Oyster stout, my perceptions of them would completely change.

Did brewery tour there and tried a bunch in their tasting room. Cigar City is definitely legit and top notch. Their flagship beers are like most, meant to be broad appealing

I hear there select series is pretty legit. Only had their kaiser ale but hoping to try the oyster stout soon.

Best case scenario their new IPA is up there with Hopitulas or even better.

Worse case it tastes like Jockamo

is it wrong that I somewhat want the new Shreveport brewery to be completely awesome, like Russian River awesome, and then the Shreveport people can talk about how awesome the beers are and all the south LA people just have to sit there and cry because they cannot get the beer...

Luckily it doesn't cost much to try something out.

Speaking of that anyone want some Newcastle Werewolf. Have a few bottles that are well aged.

They have the opportunity. They have funding, saw a posting to hire a brewer probably a month or so ago. If they haven't hired one, they can hire a top notch guy

Not at all. Would rather drive an hr or two away to get awesome Parish beer over driving a whole day to get RR beer.

I don't think it's wrong at all.
