Is LSU somewhat to blame for all the recruiting hoopla nowadays

with announcements and all the commotion with hats.
Wasn't LSU one of the first to have recruiting signing parties with the Bayou Bash?
Or is it social media?
If so, I blame the Gridiron Club.

Mostly social media and espn. Everything is made out to be a big deal nowadays. I wouldn't say LSU had anything to do with it all.

Blame it on the growth of football and sports media
Not in a bad way but its the most popular sport in the country and the media is capitalizing on the huge market for it
