Anyone that works on commish is going to have some stories for you.
I've had to sue 2 guys I contracted with for stiffing me, might have a 3rd here soon too. I've finally got a way to get proof that they've been short changing my sales and not crediting me for leads that bought. frick the travel/vacation industry.

I was scammed once In Greece. The taxi driver steered us to his cohorts restaurant and totally ripped us off. Meal and cab ride were way overpriced. Menu didnt have prices. Probably ~$100 or so overpriced and excessive mileage (took us out of Athens). I wanted out immediately. The owners urged us to wait for their cabbie buddy. We stormed out and found a bus back to Athens.
Paid an A/C guy a few hundred for coil sealant and it leaked again a day later! I chewed his arse out. Didn't get my money back, but it felt good to yell at him.

I invented a garden tool where the ends would disconnect from the pole so you could change the tool based on the work you were doing at the time( shovel to rake to hoe and so on). I did it for regular size tools as well as hand held garden tools. The entire set was on a rolling cart for moving it around and it kept you from dragging around multiple tools. All of the ends you needed were on the cart and attached to the one pole. It was the same concept as the weedeater tools they have now where you can change out the tool you use.
I paid thousands of dollars to a company to get things started and was told that was all they needed on my end. They then asked for $2-$3,0000 more. I was younger so at that time I couldn't give anymore cash. They returned part I the money but not enough for me to get a patent.
Years later I was at Lowes and in the back of the seasonal/garden area was my invention only with a different name. Not sure how it did in sales and I don't remember the new name. I had named it the Yard Magician. Corny? Probably.

About 1500 in college. We signed for a house in the middle of freshmen year. One of the guys got booted from Ohio State the next quarter. When it came time to move in, the guy never really moved in and only paid one month's rent. The 3 of us had to cover for him the entire year. Not fun as a broke college student.

A few loans to my bro in law that have never been repaid. I never expected to get the money back anyhow. Maybe $900-$1200 range if I had to guess. He's a good guy though, I'd loan him him money tomorrow if he needed it.
