re: Police brutality story Army vs Marine Cop

I went to LSU. I didn't join the armed forces. Part of me wishes I did, because I had a lack of discipline in my early adult years and maybe that would have helped me. But 90% of the marines I have met think the world owes em something. It's a choice. And I support the armed forces as much as everybody. Get off your high horse fag.

Exactly where are you bumping into all of these Marines to be able to determine this statistic?

No it wasn't.

Calling the police for assistance and it taking them 45 min to get there, the kid had a right to be upset and voice his concern.

The officer, whom is obviously a hot head took offense to it and decided to get in said kids face and get physical.

Wrong move and douche bag move.

I'm in law enforcement and I dont expect every person I come in to contact with to bend over backwards because I do what I do. You treat me like a person and I do the same...the cop needs a lesson in treating people decently.

re: Police brutality story Army vs Marine Cop

I did have to call for a deputy to come out to my house. I was doing so yard work so I moved my car to the street. A little while later I hear crunch. I walk out to see a truck driving off. Some jerk did a hit and run on me. I was not able to get a plate number.

I called for a report. An hour goes by, and they finally get to my house. I did not redirect my anger at them. I didn't start bitching about why can't they take the paint off my car and put it in a machine and analyze it like on CSI. He was there to basically make an insurance claim due to lack of evidence from the other vehicle.

Getting sprayed sucks hardcore, don't wanna get tazed, concrete hurts and jail would suck so see the chipping you teeth and popping off at officer part.

I was saying so not run your mouth like your someone special, your momma would have slapped your mouth just the officer would and should

He said he was a soldier after the cop stepped up. Watch it again. We can see the look on the cops face or what the kid was seeing. By the way of the video the cop should go to jail

I'm all for a marine putting the dude in his place. I actually loved the cops response.

If he weren't a cop. The fact of the matter is, he knew that the kid wouldn't do anything bc he was a cop. An officer is there to protect an serve. And down a citizen bc he was disrespected. It blows my mind that this cop still has a job. He is a thug and shouldn't have anymore authority than a club bouncer.

Nado,

I'm not a Marine. I'm a senior Non-Com in the Army. From experience, if this were one of my Soldiers and I watched this video..the young private would be retrained on how to conduct himself off-duty, especially when it potentially embarrasses himself, and the service as a whole.

Then, I'd personally escort him to file a complaint against the officer. And, while the private is placing the report, it would be done in a professional and courteous manner.

See, this is just how it is supposed to be done in the military. YOU should expect nothing less from us.

I respect your opinions about those Marines you met but I can assure you they aren't reflective of the many great ones I've served alongside.

that shouldve been the farthest that the officer got in his law enforcement career.

That's all great in a good structured normal system, but this kid was dealing with living in an obviously corrupt police department's jurisdiction. That's why they ran the investigation and story.

That would all be fine and dandy.... Except for the fact that the cop had backup. The other cop would have his weapon drawn or given assistance had anything happened. It's not like the dude was in the ghetto all by himself. He would have been shot if he attacked that cop and the cop was in a bind. Let's be real here.

That is a well thought out response I can respect. Now I never served. First to admit that. But back here in our country I have met some piss poor excuse of humans that call themselves marines. Just my experiences. I will say that there may be some changes in people when they get back to normal everyday life. 2 are life long friends but can be complete pieces of shite and batshite crazy.

I do thank you for your service. It is commendable and should be honored more than it is nowadays

I know this the same way you do..we both watched the entire story in hindsight. The guy didn't know this when he called or he wouldn't have called.

No military leader is going to tell you that the Soldier handled himself correctly. Again, not to say the cop don't deserve to be curb-stomped.

This military leader will tell you that this soldier could have handled this situation a little batter, but that does not excuse his ridiculous treatment at the hands of the local Barney Fifes......

Kid deserved to get punched for being a disgrace to the uniform. Real Soldiers don't get beat up by their roomates, call the cops, then act like bitches but hide behind their service. Glad he got smacked around.

He was 100% in the wrong. He abused his power.

Was the kid an ass? Yes.

Did he pop off? Yes

Dispite the kid acting like an arrogant douche, the only thing he threw at the cop was words, the cop coil have said everything he said without putting a hand on him and I would have laughed at the kid.

But a person of authority should never apply force bc he feels insulted. This isn't china. That by definition is communism.

Agree. The kid was a douche but his behavior was far from criminal or deserving of assault. The cop was a larger man and had a second policeman there with him. There was no reasonable argument for him feeling threatened enough to have to use force.

But he stepped into the kid, knocked him to the ground with force and then manhandled him.

Kid is a bitch but I wish he would sue the department and take them for a few million. He should win this lawsuit - and IMO it is a special violation of public trust for police to just beat up people they don't like.
