That is exactly the kind of patronizing argument I hate. It doesn't make your blood boil, as a minority, that the progressive party thinks you are too dumb to be able to obtain id? It infuriates me.

That's ok. One time when I was in grade school some kids were making fun of me for being mexican. My dad told me to tell them "we're rich. We're basically spanish". I believed him for a while.

I reject the ridiculous premise of your question.

well let me put it another way. why do you think that so many in that group require help for something as simple as getting an ID?

Anyone who says that partisan politics wasn't the real motivation for the rash of new voting laws is either ignorant or intellectually dishonest. Furthermore, it wasn't just voter ID laws, it was such things as shortening the hours for early voting at specific precincts and not having enough voting machines at certain precincts to guarantee that there would be long lines on election day.

I haven't really looked into the hours issue. You may have a point there. But I see no reason why proving who you are before voting is a racial issue. Unless someone thinks we minorities are too dumb to obtain identification.

i thought i said earlier the laws were about making democrats show ID to vote. i don't think anybody denies that

you can turn anything into a race issue if you try hard enough again, why not answer my question: why do progressives assume that it's so difficult for minorities to get IDs? to me that's a pretty racist assumption

have tried to tell Republicans what their problem is, but folks won't listen to anything they have to say
Perhaps that's because they do not actually know what the problem is. Germans, Italians and Japanese were mortal enemies of the US < 6 decades ago. Russians, < 2 decades ago. Why the prolonged struggle of blacks in the US? Why the prolonged poverty of blacks in the US? Why the prolonged disproportionate criminality of blacks in the US? Why the disproportionate homicide rate impacting blacks victims in the US? Why the disproportionate homicide rate inflicted on blacks in the US? Why are those problems not evident amongst Asians, Germans, Russians in the US?

Maybe just maybe you should give consideration to the possibility that people do actually vote & act in their self interest.

I vote in my self interest. I am offended progressives think I need the help. I can't speak to all mexicans, obviously. But I am offended by the progressives need to "pity" my background.
