Romney was also going to allow the tax holiday to expire.

I didn't bring it up, but it would have retired before he took office. Maybe in a pinch, a different congress could make a retroactive change for 2013 to stimulate economic growth. Doesn't really matter how you cut it...it's a tax increase during a period of stagnant economic performance. It will hurt, and it's pretty infuriating coming from leadership that promised no tax increases for the middle class.

I voted for Romney, not Obama, so don't accuse me of hypocrisy. My reference on 25 was sarcastic.

This is such a dumb statement. I don't remember seeing a candidate (that had a shot anyway) that was going to give us a the option to opt out of social security. He didn't raise SS taxes, he let his holiday expire. There's a lot to blame Barry for, but this really isn't a valid argument. I despise Obama btw.

Don't have kids, living like an OT baller with a dual income household. And how hard can teaching really be when the average parent can order a home school curriculum and teach it themselves.

Unfortunately, a number of bad teachers in the country have given the profession a bad rep. Bottom line is that to be good at any profession, you must work hard. There are many things today teachers do that were not conducted in the last generation. Accountability in schools has completely left the students and fallen upon the teachers and administration. Schools are graded by test scores and it is the push. This has made teaching harder and it is sad to see. I hope to finish my Phd by 2015 and start teaching college-level right away because I can not see myself doing this for 30 years.

The democrats have greatly punished low wage earners. Look at all of the companies that are reducing workers hours so they won't have to give them Obamacare. example: Walmart employee makes $10/hour working 35 hours per week. Walmart cuts their hours to 29 hours. Now the employee makes $290 per week instead of $350 per week. That's a 17% paycut. Here's the "Good News". They still have no healthcare! Gotta love the "representatives" that had to "pass the bill to find out what is in it." These elected people are supposed to represent "we the people". If they are voting on bills they are not reading, then they are representing their agenda, not the people. We're finding out that a paycut is what was in it for low wage earners. Obamacare has caused great harm to them. Why aren't the people blasting the democrats for passing legislation that caused these people to get such large pay cuts? Why is the uneducated media silent on this issue? Is it because this math is above their heads?

That's only part of the equation for teachers...are you in a union? If so, you are funding the democrats.

Not sure if you've checked lately, but there is a pretty big crop of recent graduates who can't find work in my area
There's also a long line of those recent grads who get in and get right out because they either couldnt cut it, or realized the time off at summer and Christmas is not worth the low pay. People who read and write things bitching about teachers is kinda like complaining about farmers with your mouth full.

I guess you think unemployment, inflation, income taxes and interest rates did not come down under ronnie either huh? yeah, that military spending during the cold war was just awful huh? is that not one of the things the government should do when needed?Let me guess, you would prefer entitlements right? or how about Social security spending maybe? No worries, reagan got suckered by Tip on SS spending. happy now? I guess you also missed where his income tax cuts created more revenue also huh?
