I really love the shooting maps that Kirk Goldsberry creates. Some of the best infographics in the biz.

Austin Rivers at %35 under the basket. Wow. That guy is killing my. Ryan Anderson however.

Every Hornets/Pelicans fan should have known Rivers and Anderson would be on this list somewhere.

Rivers is awful at the easiest spots on the court.
35% at the rim and 55% on free throws

the article is awesome
"Smith arrives at his forgettable overall shooting efficiency by being very efficient near the basket and the worst volume shooter in the NBA away from the basket."

Makes sense to me. Depth perception and I'd guess left/right eye dominance play a huge part in three point shooting.
Ray Allen has a similar affect. He's a 45% 3pt shooting from the left wing, but only like a 30% shooting from the right wing. Also he shoots 60% from the right corner, but only like 30-35% from the left corner. Obviously this isn't nearly as exaggerated as Gallo's numbers, but lots of players have this issue.

Rivers really just can't finish for whatever reason. So many layups bounce off the rim and out. It's insane.

Geography? He's at Harvard this year, right?

Because he kind of just throws them up there, where better players can lay them in nicely.

Yep. I know he's doing work out there now too, but I think he's scheduled to come back next year (but I could be wrong).
I know quite a few people who had him, though.
